Weissburgunder 2021 Vorberg...
Vorberg Riserva

'On the southern slopes of the Tschöggelberg there are very sunny and steep vineyards in the Terlan DOC area, where a very exciting Pinot Blanc thrives at an altitude of
between 450 and 650 metres above sea level. This full-bodied and extremely complex wine impresses in particular with its minerality as well as its considerable capacity for
development, thereby underlining the full potential of this variety.'
Rudi Kofler

Wine:
Region of Origin: South Tyrol - Italy
DOC area: South Tyrol Terlaner
Variety: 100% Pinot Blanc
Vintage: 2021
Yield: 52 hl/ha
Orientation: South - Southwest
Slope: 5 - 70
Altitude: 450 - 650 m

Vinification: hand harvest and grape selection; soft whole cluster pressing and clarification of the must by natural sedimentation from the lees; slow fermentation at
controlled temperature in large oak barrels (70 & 30 hl); partial malolactic fermentation and ageing for 12 months on the fine lees in traditional wooden barrels.

Technical data:
Alcohol content: 14,0 % vol.
Residual sugar: 0,9 g/l
Total acidity: 6,2 g/l
Serving temperature: 12 - 14 °C

Food pairing:
Ideal in combination with a spicy fish soup but also peppered mussels as well as spaghetti allo scoglio; at the same time interesting with gratinated mussels, grilled
octopus or braised char; also goes well with the difficult to combine artichokes alla romana; with an aged pecorino, an aged parmesan with mostarda.

Character:
Colour: brilliant straw yellow with green nuances
Nose: A multi-faceted bouquet characterised by ripe fruit notes such as honeydew melon, white peach, pears and golden delicious apples, as well as aromas of quince jelly,
camomile and pineapple, and a delicate mineral note of flint.
Taste: The interplay of fruity-aromatic and salty taste components is also repeated on the palate. Chianti classico Riserva...

Riserva is made from our best Sangiovese grapes. This medium to full-bodied wine displays the elegance and charm of this classic Tuscan grape variety and reveals a
finesse that certainly does justice to this historic appellation. Aromas such as cherry, spices, leather and chocolate harmonise perfectly with each other. The Sangiovese
matures in tonneaux for 16 months, while the Merlot matures in barriques. The cuvée matures in the bottle for at least another year after bottling.

Monica Larner noted in the Parker Wine Guide for the 2012 vintage: 'A wonderful wine that deserves attention. I am impressed.'

Ideal with: grilled meat, roast beef and veal, stews, grilled fish, pasta dishes and risottos. Our favourite with fresh porcini mushroom risotto
