The name 'FREIENFELD' comes from the Renaissance estate of the same name in which the winery was founded in 1900. Already at that time, the sun-exposed slopes of<br />Kurtatsch on permeable dolomite-limestone soil showed their potential for Cabernet.<br /><br />Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon<br />Vinification: Temperature-controlled fermentation in red tanks and ageing in French barriques for 15 months. Barriques for 15 months, further 9 months in large oak barrels<br />and at least 1 year in the bottle.<br />Alcohol: 14,5 % Vol.<br />Total acidity: 5,2 g/l<br />Residual sugar: 1,2 g/l<br />Yield per hectare: 40 hl<br />Optimum age for drinking: 5-20 years<br />Method of cultivation: sustainable<br />
