Grape variety: Petit Verdot ,Syrah, Lagrein, Merlot,Cabernet Sauvignon - in equal proportions.<br />Vinification: The different grape varieties are harvested at the same time and processed together. Only the Cabernet Sauvignon, which matures later, is fermented separately. The maceration in steel tanks lasts about 10 days, followed by the acid reduction in wooden barrels. The wine matures for 18 months in French oak barriques. Long bottle ageing before the wine goes on sale.<br />Tasting:<br />The Cuvée Kermesse impresses with a strong, intense purple red and with an intense, multi-layered bouquet: spicy with slightly smoky tobacco notes, some pepper and chocolate, fruity with red berries, wild berries and dried figs. Powerful, elegant and harmonious on the palate, with well-integrated tannins, delicate toasty aromas and spicy richness, with a lot of potential and a long finish. Complex Chardonnays from high altitudes are a rarity, but that is precisely where the appeal lies for us. Troy means 'path' in the language of our ancestors. The name<br />illustrates our long journey of research and experimentation with this noble grape variety.<br /><br />The winter ended with abundant snow in the mountains. Warmer temperatures in March and April caused premature and rather uneven budding in the well-supplied soils. A<br />cool May then delayed the flowering. In humid and hot June, a high fungal disease pressure developed, which could be contained through sensitivity and a lot of careful<br />manual work. The rest of the summer was largely dry and was only interrupted by short, heavy thunderstorms. Two hot spells had practically no negative effects. A<br />significant drop in the lowest temperatures began in mid-August. High temperature differences between day and night characterised the weather throughout the harvest. The<br />harvest took place about 14 days later than in the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage show an impressive freshness, Gewürztraminer are characterised by<br />particular elegance. The historic vineyard is part of the monastery complex, where the vines stand on pure alluvial material from<br />the Talfer and a subsoil of Bolzano quartz porphyry. IN THE CELLAR<br />After fermentation and acid reduction in stainless steel, the wine is aged in new barrique barrels for 22 months, followed by harmonisation in enamelled steel tanks and<br />careful bottling after light filtration.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />The Klosteranger appears in deep garnet red and seduces with a bouquet of concentrated aromas. It is surprisingly lively and fruity on the nose with notes of coffee and<br />black berries as well as a hint of raspberries. On the palate, it convinces with grippy tannins, fresh acidity, delicate as well as elegant fullness and depth. Our single-vineyard<br />Lagrein is wonderfully complex, long-lasting and pampers the palate with a multi-layered structure. The bodega Tinto Pesquera is located in Pesquera de Duero, a village about 200 km north of Madrid, in the Ribera del Duero. This region is about 115 km long and takes its<br />name from the word ribera, which means cultivated fields near a watercourse. The soil is of alluvial origin characterised by the presence of clay, sand and infiltrations of<br />limestone and debris, while the climate is continental. In a cellar dating back to the 16th century, Alejandro Fernández created Tinto Pesquera in the 1970s: the name of his<br />winery, in a short time, embodied the renaissance of Spanish wine and especially Tempranillo. Tinto Pesquera is the result of Alejandro Fernández's close bond with his<br />land, Pesquera de Duero, so much so that his wine label features the town's symbols: its name, its tower and its arch. After alcoholic fermentation, the Tinto Pesquera<br />wines are not clarified and mature in French and American barriques for 18 months for the Tinto Pesquera and 24 months for the Reserva. In truly special vintages, the Tinto<br />Pesquera Janus Gran Reserva is produced, a single vineyard Tempranillo that is the epitome of elegance of this variety.<br /><br />Varietal: Tempranillo.<br /><br />Vineyards: The vineyards used to produce the Tinto Pesquera are located in Roa and La Horra (approximately 800 metres above sea level) in Ribiera del Duero. The soils are<br />heterogeneous, predominantly clay marl with the presence of limestone.<br /><br />Vinification: the wine ages 14 months in American oak barrels, then 6 months in the bottle before release.<br /><br />Characteristics: characterised by its brilliant colour, garnet hue, attractive and elegant. On the nose it has notes of red berries blending with balsamic hints. In the mouth it<br />is sweet, combining fruity hints with balsamic notes and liquorice.<br />
