The grapes grow on slopes between 250 and 500 metres above sea level in the hillsides of the St. Magdalener area above Bolzano and ripen to a medium-bodied red wine,
with fruity and floral notes, which goes well with many dishes of South Tyrolean and Italian cuisine.

Grape varieties: Vernatsch and Lagrein
Growing region/climate: St. Magdalena above Bolzano, with gravel soils
Harvest: Beginning to middle of October
Vinification: Carefully selected grapes are fermented traditionally and matured in large oak barrels.

Characteristics
Colour: strong ruby red
Aroma: floral of violets and roses, fruity of red cherry and raspberry, typical bitter almond and marzipan aroma
Flavour: full and velvety, persistent

Goes well with: meat dishes such as carne salada and ribbon noodles with game ragout, smoked meats, dumplings, bacon, pizza, pasta and hard cheeses
