ROSSO PICENO SUPERIORE<br />Protected Designation of Origin<br />Blend 70% Montepulciano<br />30% Sangiovese<br /><br />PICUS<br />For this selection of Rosso Piceno Superiore, the Latin name of the Picchio, the main symbol of Piceno civilisation, was chosen. This blend obtained from Montepulciano<br />and Sangiovese grapes, cultivated in the restricted and most vocated area of the Rosso Piceno D.O.C. denomination, through ageing in wood enhances its natural qualities<br />to a clearly superior level.<br /><br />SENSORY ANALYSIS<br />A wine with an intense ruby red colour. The nose reveals a very broad aromatic complex in which notes of cherry and plum blend with those of sweet spices (cinnamon<br />and liquorice). The taste is full-bodied, rightly tannic and on the whole harmonious.<br /><br />VINE: 70% Montepulciano, 30% Sangiovese.<br />VINEYARD AGE: 20-25 years with south-east exposure and altitude 250-300 m<br />SOIL: Clayey and loamy.<br />TRAINING: Double Guyot and spurred cordon.<br />YIELD: 70 HL/ha<br />HARVEST: Manual harvest with selection of the bunches from the first to the<br />second decade of October.<br />VINIFICATION: Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 2<br />weeks.<br />AGING: In French oak barrels for 12-15 months.<br />

VINIFICATION: In steel. Maceration on the skins for about 20 days.<br />AGING:<br />In French and Slavonian oak barrels for about 24 months and in barriques for a small part.<br />NOTES:<br />Our Nebbiolo is enriched by a small addition of Nebbiolo grapes from the Barolo and Barbaresco areas that give body, structure and longevity. Intense and ripe fruit, but<br />still fresh, orbid and almost sweet tannins give pleasantness and fragrance. Long-lived.<br />

Maceration on the skins for about 30 days at fairly high temperatures.<br />AGING:<br />In French and Slavonian oak barrels for about 30 months and a small part in barriques.<br />NOTES:<br />A very classic style Barolo: elegance and finesse, ripe and spicy fruit, important but not overpowering tannins, good structure and concentration. ALGHERO CABERNET RISERVA DOC<br />MARCHESE DI VILLAMARINA<br /><br />Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon 100%.<br />Origin: Alghero<br />Average age of vines: 11 years<br />Vinification: Pre-fermentation maceration at 10°C for 24 hours;<br />fermentation at controlled temperature 18 months<br />Ageing: 50% in new French barriques, 50% in second passage barriques; followed by 12 months of refinement in the bottle<br />Malolactic fermentation: Yes<br />Alcohol content: 13.5 %.<br />Total acidity: 5.7 g/l<br /><br />One of the great Italian reds, a reference point among pure Cabernet Sauvignons and the pride of the Sella &amp; Mosca project. It comes from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes<br />grown on strong soils of ferrous clay, combined by an ancient geological chaos with sand of aeolian nature. A terroir that influences and shapes the variety in a<br />Mediterranean key, making the wine unique and seductive. After harvesting, the grapes ferment with long maceration on the skins, then the wine is placed to mature in<br />barriques for about 18 months. After bottling, it rests in the cellar for a further 12 months. A decisive ruby colour with violet streaks, it is enveloped by ample perfumes of<br />great intensity, defined by notes of morello cherry and blackcurrant, tobacco and spices. The sip, rhythmic and silky, has specific weight and structure that the good acidity<br />maintains in formidable balance. The finish is warm and seductive, with a very long persistence.<br />

<br />A dynamic and contemporary red wine that looks back to its origins, to a time when red wines accompanied the table every day with their juiciness, ease of drinking and<br />depth of fruit, recounting the slow pace of life in the rhythm of people and conviviality. Grapes: Grape varieties: Sangiovese from the highest and most historic areas of the<br />vineyards from which Rubesco has always been produced. The harvest in this part of the hillside is generally towards the end of September to allow the Sangiovese to<br />reach full ripeness while maintaining a balanced level of freshness.<br />

AVVOLTORE | IGT TOSCANA RED<br />Avvoltore<br />SANGIOVESE 75% | CABERNET SAUVIGNON 20% | SYRAH 5%<br /><br />Avvoltore is the flagship wine of the estate and the pride of its creator, Adolfo Parentini. Born from the union of Sangiovese, traditionally used in Tuscan reds, with Cabernet<br />Sauvignon and Syrah, not widely used and known in the Maremma in 1988, all grown in the clay-limestone soil of Poggio dell'Avvoltore, this wine marks a milestone in the<br />Moris family's legacy of producing high quality wines in the Tuscan Maremma.<br /><br />TASTING NOTES:<br />Colour: ruby red with purple highlights<br />Bouquet: complex, with hints of ripe fruit and vanilla<br />Taste: full-bodied and soft, with a distinct velvety feel<br />Serving temperature: 18°C<br />Pairing: great roasts<br /><br />TECHNICAL NOTES:<br />Production area: Poggio dell'Avvoltore, Tenuta Poggetti, Massa Marittima.<br />Soil: clayey, rich in skeleton, tendentially alkaline.<br />Exposure: South-West<br />Yield per hectare: 35 ql. of grapes<br /><br />PRODUCTION NOTES:<br />Harvest takes place the second and fourth week of September and the first and second week of October. Fermentation in cement tanks, with temperature control and two<br />daily pumpings over for the first 10 days. The wine remains for a further 15 days in contact with the skins before being drawn off and immediately put into 225-litre<br />barriques (80% new), where malolactic fermentation takes place. Maturation in wood lasts about a year, during which time the wine is racked. The wine remains in the<br />bottle for six months before being put on the market.<br />

The Wine<br /><br />For over five years, Cabreo has expressed the perfect harmony between tradition, innovation and suitability for the territory in which it is born: Greve in Chianti. This wine<br />is the result of a careful blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, which respectively give softness, strength and elegance, and of a long aging in small French<br />oak barrels.<br />Vintage: The 2020 vintage is purple red, crystalline and bright, on the nose it presents a synergistic sensorial profile between the descriptors of wood and those of<br />cabernet. Partially tamed by the softness of the merlot. In the mouth it expresses the young maturity of a great red, alternating pleasant tannic sensations with sweet vinous<br />sensations. Nose and mouth constantly evolving in the glass. The Pinot Noir comes from the historic Preyhof estate, located not far from Sallegg Castle above Kaltern. It is a Pinot Noir vineyard of rare excellence: slightly<br />cooler, with less intensive sunshine and ideal soil. Rich ruby red in colour, the Pinot Noir KARAL reveals notes of cherry, blueberry, and coffee. The interplay<br />continues on the palate, spiced with delicate roasted aromas. The balanced acidity and pronounced tannins reinforce the firm structure of the wine. The finish<br />is elegant, long and persistent.<br /><br />Manual harvesting and selection of the grapes from the oldest vines at the Preyhof. After destemming (10% whole bunches), filling of the stainless steel tanks<br />by gravity. Cold maceration (5 days) followed by fermentation, gentle pressing, and malolactic fermentation. Ageing in barriques and tonneaux (20% new),<br />with subsequent blending after one year of ageing.
