Gustative examination: On the<br />palate, very pleasant notes of saltiness are picked up, interspersed with 'burnt' sensations of ash and smoky. Gin Buckingham Palace 42%...

Buckingham Palace Gin was first launched in July 2020.<br />This distillate has a unique royal origin, with many of its citrus and herbaceous botanicals harvested from the gardens of Buckingham Palace. It is a London Dry gin,<br />produced in small batches of about a thousand bottles at a time in traditional pot stills. Verbena, hawthorn, laurel, mulberry are some of the twelve botanical components<br />selected from the gardens.<br />Chamomile flowers are used for a floral component. The nose is fresh with citrus notes that stand out against the other botanicals, while the aroma of juniper berries is light.<br />On the palate, flavours of verbena, hawthorn, laurel, mulberry and chamomile flowers. The mix is complex and harmonious with sweet<br />sweet and floral notes.<br />

The fruits soon form a pasty mass from which a sweet and fragrant juice is obtained. Fermentation of the<br />fruit begins after one or two days and lasts five to six weeks Its progress must be carefully monitored. Then distillation begins in copper stills using the discontinuous<br />method.<br /><br />COLOUR: clear transparent<br /><br />BOUQUET: Gives the nose all the intense and captivating varietal notes of the Williams pear.<br /><br />PAIRINGS: Enjoy as a digestive, in cocktails but also on fruit salads, sorbets.<br /><br />FLAVOUR: harmonious on the palate, with a good balance between the freshness of the fruit and its roundness... PEAT: STRONG<br /><br />We didn't want to smother the fresh, muscular peat of this young single malt from Islay with too much wine, so we chose a finish of just one year in new Pedro Ximenez<br />casks. The first olfactory impression confirms that it is not at all vinous: the interaction with the casks has only accentuated certain qualities of the distillate, providing a<br />curiously contrasting juxtaposition of buttery notes with more acidic ones, reminiscent of balsamic vinegar. Apart from that, it is a very medicinal whisky: peaty in the tarry<br />sense, rather than ash-oriented. The richer ash and vegetable side of the smokiness only reveals itself on the palate: again slightly buttery, but overall rather herbaceous and<br />dry. The finish is a long, powerful crescendo of peat smoke, dry and taut.<br />

Only 5,000 bottles were produced worldwide, the result of selecting a very small proportion of the barrels that age in The Glenrothes'<br />warehouses.<br /><br />How to drink it: it can be enjoyed neat or with a large cube of ice, so the dilution will be very slow and the tampering always regular.<br /><br />Focus: Since the beginning of its existence, the Rothes distillery has been located next to the town's cemetery. Without interruption, day and night, The Glenrothes,<br />continues its daily routine giving birth to new distillates. Ghosts and spirits are part of the DNA of The Glenrothes Distillery. This special limited edition release tells the story<br />of Halloween by returning the legitimacy of the birth of this celebration to Scotland.<br />
