<br />GRAPPA LAGRINUM XO RISERVA IMPERIALE<br /><br />In 1379 the grape variety Lagrein was mentioned for the first time in a document as 'bonum Lagrinum'. It is one of the typical regional grape varieties of South Tyrol. The<br />multifaceted grappa produced from this grape variety is particularly well suited for refinement in wooden barrels.<br /><br />Renowned wineries from the Bolzano and Merano regions are the suppliers of the mash for this special distillate, which we carefully distilled in a small water bath alambic in<br />late autumn 2009. After harmonisation in stainless steel barrels, the grappa was filled into French oak barriques in autumn 2010. After 89 months of perfect storage in a<br />controlled atmosphere, the Grappa XO Riserva Imperiale has matured into a noble spirit of rare quality.<br /><br />Multi-layered, complex, with hints of dried fruit, vanilla, honey, excellent ballance and a remarkably delicate finish, this outstanding grappa presents itself like a concert for<br />the senses as a perfect pleasure for meditation. Diciotto Lune, Grappa Stravecchia, is made from a blend of both red and white pomace grapes; it is then aged for 18 months in small cherry, ash, oak and robinia barrels.<br /><br />Riserva Botte Rum is a special edition characterised by additional ageing in a limited number of carefully selected barrels, mainly from Martinique, Barbados and Jamaica<br />(Caribbean), which were previously used to age the Rum. The additional ageing brings out a sharper Grappa-Wood contrast and a sweet and spicy hint. RIVIERA<br />This is the spontaneous juniper of the Maremma coast. With a savoury taste, it is influenced by the volcanic soil, the altitude of 200 metres and the sea wind. PH 6.4. 25%<br />of the blend.<br /><br />ALCOHOL CONTENT<br />45° balances each cocktail.<br /><br />CHIANTI<br />This is the juniper harvested in the Chianti hills. Thanks to its altitude of almost 600 metres above sea level, it is the juniper with the most balsamic notes. PH 8.3. 10% of<br />the blend.<br /><br />DISTILLATION<br />This takes place at low temperature in a discontinuous copper pot still. This is followed by two months' rest before bottling.<br /><br />VALTIBERINE<br />This is our high altitude juniper. It is in fact those almost 800 metres, combined with the area's loamy and sandy soil, that give it its unmistakable hint of balance and<br />sobriety. It is the most common juniper in our blend. PH 7.7. 65% of the blend.<br /><br />TASTING NOTES<br />As clear as any good London Dry Gin, it surprises the nose with a strong scent of wild juniper immediately softened by dog rose and herbaceous hints of helichrysum. In the<br />mouth, the juniper explodes overbearingly, to which is added the rose and the balsamic note of helichrysum. Immediate is the spicy coriander which fades into a persistent<br />finish of slightly citrus notes.<br />
