La Rose de Manincor 2024...
Awards

2019 | Decanter | 95 points
2019 | Genuss Magazin | 91 points

Grape varieties

Merlot 35%, Cabernet Franc 30%, Pinot Noir 14%, Tempranillo 6%, Syrah 6%, Lagrein 5%, Petit Verdot 4%

Location & soil

Our best red wine sites in Manincor, at Seehof, Panholzerhof and in Mazzon, between 250 and 500 m above sea-level, with strong clayey soils interspersed with limestone
gravel and other glacial rock deposits.

Vintage

2023 was a challenging year with climatic conditions that were anything but easy. Through hard work and meticulous attention to detail, we ultimately achieved great results.
Our vines coped well with both the wet spring and the hot and dry summer, and the golden autumn helped us achieve perfect ripeness. Physiolog-ical ripeness, sugar
ripeness and acidity are in perfect balance. Ripe fruit, cool character and moderate alcohol characterise the vintage.
From mid-September to the end of October, we were able to harvest all our red wine varieties at the best time. The average yield per hectare was 53 hl.

Winemaking

La Rose de Manincor is the result of the top red wine batches being made by the saignée method, i.e. bleeding off a proportion of wine after only short contact with the
skins - in this case 6 to 12 hours; it increases the ratio of skins to juice in the vat in order to obtain a red wine with more colour and tannin. Consequently the composition
and character of the rosé wine may vary slightly from year to year. The lightly coloured juice so obtained is fermented in oak barrels partially using yeasts occurring
naturally on the grapes. The young wine is subsequently matured on the fine lees to allow the aromas and flavour to develop.

Data

Residual sugar: 0.9 g/l
Alcohol: 13 % vol.
Acidity: malolactic fermentation: 6.0 g/l

Description & drinking recommendation

Bright salmon red in colour with a bouquet reminiscent of raspberry and cherry, juicy and creamy on the palate, excellent length with a mineral-fruity aftertaste.
Enjoy at optimum maturity from early summer 2024 to the end of 2027.
Serve: very lightly chilled but not cold; 46 - 50 °F
An excellent match for well-seasoned first courses, fried or smoked fish as well as dishes of white and grilled meats.

Our claim

Biodynamic
Respekt-BIODYN
Vegan
Chinato PIO CESARE 750ml
Barolo Chinato
For about 21 days, small pieces of China Calissaia and China Succirubra bark are steeped in an infusion of alcohol and a very small amount of our classic Barolo. We
then add a mixture of aromatic spices including gentian root, rhubarb, cardamom seeds, sweet and bitter orange, cinnamon and others, which make up our historic
Family Recipe. To the aromatic extract thus obtained we finally add the right amount of our classic Barolo, a little sugar and alcohol and leave it to refine for at least 4
months in small stainless steel containers. After resting in the bottle for at least 2 months, our Barolo Chinato is ready to be enjoyed in the Piedmontese way, i.e. after
meals as a digestif.
Lugana 2024 CA'DEI FRATI 375ml
I Frati
Lugana Doc

The wine that has made the company's image known and continues to do so. It has a direct link with its variety, Turbiana, our indigenous vine. Conceived to be consumed
during the year, it expresses its best side many years after bottling. In its youth it is fresh, linear and endowed with great finesse and elegance with delicate notes of white
flowers and balsamic, hints of apricot and almond. Time allows it to evolve, expressing its mineral notes with greater determination. The wine acquires its own complexity
with hints of iodine, spices and candied fruit. In the mouth it is capable of enveloping the whole palate thanks to an important savoury essence accompanied by lively and
exuberant acidity. When young, it is best served at a temperature of around 10 degrees, with cold or warm but delicate hors d'oeuvres and with boiled, steamed or grilled
fish dishes.
Technical data

Grape varieties used: Turbiana 100%.
Soil composition: calcareous - clayey
Training system: Simple and double Guyot
Planting system: 2.30 x 0.70
Yield per hectare: 90 quintals
Type of vinification: steel
Malolactic: Not carried out
Ageing and development: in steel on fine lees for a minimum of 6 months, followed by 2 months in bottle
Alcohol content: 13%.
Total acidity: 6.40 g/L
Volatile acidity: 0.30 g/L
pH: 3.20
Dry extract: 21 g/L
EPOKALE Südt....
Epokale was the first Italian white wine to be awarded 100 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. This wine contradicts the classic idea of a South Tyrolean
Gewürztraminer, redefines boundaries and impressively shows what this great variety is capable of.
Mild temperatures in spring brought about an early start of vegetation. The summer months were decidedly sunny and dry. Cool nights ensured that the physiological
ripeness could nevertheless develop in a balanced way. Thanks to a cool September, the ripening process was delayed so that an excellent harvest with optimally ripened
grapes took place. The elegant white wines show a pronounced juiciness, variety of aromas and depth, the intense reds offer plenty of fruit and character.

Grape variety: Gewürztraminer
Yield: 29 hl/hectare
Altitude: 420 - 440 m
Exposure: south-east
Harvest: End of October
Soil: calcareous gravel with clay soil, subsoil rocks of porphyry
Age of the vines: oldest Guyot stock, from over 20 years to almost 30 years old
Climate: extreme interplay between sunny days dominated by the Mediterranean climate and night hours dominated by cold downdrafts from the surrounding mountains
Moscato Rosa DOC 2023 375ml...
South Tyrol Moscato Rosa DOC

A rare pleasure in a small edition

Castel Sallegg and Moscato Rosa. These two terms have long belonged together in South Tyrol. Not without reason, it was the Princes of Campofranco, ancestors of the
current owner Count Georg von Kuenburg, who in 1892 brought this noble grape variety with them when they moved from Sicily to Sallegg Castle in Caldaro and planted it
in the warmest soil on Lake Caldaro, where it thrived magnificently. Today, the rose muscatel is one of the rarest varieties in the world. The Moscato Rosa of Castel Sallegg
grows at the Seehof in St. Josef am See at 230 m above sea level on the traditional pergola.

The production of this wine is very limited: Depending on the weather, Moscato Rosa may not be bottled at all in certain years. Otherwise, up to 1,000 bottles are bottled per
vintage.

Tasting Notes:
A dessert wine whose colour is characterised by a dense raspberry red.
On the nose, rich aromas of roses, fine fruit components distantly reminiscent of lychee and ripe, very complex raspberry flavours, supported by an elegant spiciness in
the background.
Very opulent, repeating the aromas of the fragrance, this powerful wine type presents itself on the palate.
Serving temperature: 10-14°C
Shelf life: Up to 30 years. Moscato Rosa is Castel Sallegg's most famous wine and, as a variety, is one of the rarest in the world.
Food recommendation: Ideal with mature, spicy cheeses, foie gras, desserts with berry fruits (but with sugar restrained). Also perfect as a stand-alone wine in the sense of
a meditation wine.
Grape variety: 100% Moscato Rosa - Selection Kuenburg: Autochthonous variety.
Site: Kaltern - Seehof: 230 m above sea level. Gravel and reddish, ground Grödner sandstone. Warm, air-permeable soils with a special microclimate in the immediate
vicinity of Lake Kaltern.
Growing system: Traditional pergola
Yield per vine: 0.5 kg - 8 hl/ha due to natural trickling.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested very late with a minimum gradation of 32°KMW (160 Öchsle). This is followed by a week of maceration in stainless steel tanks.
Maturation: 1 year in stainless steel barrels, followed by 12 months in the bottle.
Alcohol: 12,5 %
Acidity: 7,3 g/l
Residual sugar: 161,4 g/l
