Epokale was the first Italian white wine to be awarded 100 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. This wine contradicts the classic idea of a South Tyrolean<br />Gewürztraminer, redefines boundaries and impressively shows what this great variety is capable of.<br />Mild temperatures in spring brought about an early start of vegetation. The summer months were decidedly sunny and dry. Cool nights ensured that the physiological<br />ripeness could nevertheless develop in a balanced way. Thanks to a cool September, the ripening process was delayed so that an excellent harvest with optimally ripened<br />grapes took place. Our vineyards offer ideal conditions for a<br />Chardonnay Fallwind that stands out for its fullness, silky elegance and harmonious balance between acidity and softness. It is accompanied by a hint of ripe fruit. The best<br />prerequisites for enjoyable drinking experiences.<br /><br />Eye: Straw yellow with green reflections.<br />Nose: fruity scent of melon and ripe apples<br />Taste: velvety, buttery, soft<br /><br />Growing area:<br />Site: various vineyards in the municipality of Appiano (420-500m).<br />Exposure: southeast, southwest<br />Soils: calcareous gravel and moraine debris soils<br />Method of cultivation: Guyot<br /><br />The majority (75%) is fermented in steel tanks, the rest (25%) in wooden barrels followed by malolactic fermentation. Lagrein 2022<br />South Tyrol DOC<br /><br />VINEYARDS: 100% Lagrein<br />VINIFICATION: traditional maceration of 10 days at controlled temperature in steel barrels. Subsequent malolactic fermentation in large 70hl and medium 22hl wooden<br />barrels of French and Slavonian oak. This is followed by further ageing in wooden barrels.<br /><br />DEGUSTATION: the Lagrein Elena Walch invites with an intense and dense garnet red colour. The multi-layered bouquet captivates with discreet spicy aromas, with cocoa<br />as well as wild berries and heart cherries in the background. A distinctive<br />tannin structure, supple fullness, a playful rustic elegance and youthful freshness as well as a juicy, long finish convince on the palate.<br /><br />TERROIR: warmer sites on chalky soils with clay and sand on both sides of the ridge, facing southeast and southwest. Gewürztraminer Campaner...

Campaner Gewürztraminer DOC 2021<br /><br />Origin: the name Gewürztraminer goes back to Tramin, the neighbouring village of Kaltern, where this variety was first mentioned in documents in the 14th century. Whether<br />the variety really originated in Tramin is questionable. The fact is that it has a very long tradition in South Tyrol and produces excellent wines.<br /><br />Vintage: the winter months were predominantly sunny but decidedly cold. Temperatures rose only hesitantly even in spring, slowing down the development phase of the<br />vines. However, a warm and sunny start to the summer made up for this. August and July were very varied, so the grape harvest started relatively late on 9 September. The<br />rainy September was a great organisational challenge for our winegrowers, but finally the harvest was completed on 26 October with a very good result.<br /><br />Tasting notes:<br />- pale golden yellow<br />- intense nose, rose petals, lychee, cloves, cinnamon, some sage, complex and multilayered<br />- much volume on the palate, very clear and straightforward, tropical fruits in the long finish<br /><br />Recommendation: goes very well with prawns and flavourful fish as well as with Asian cuisine. Also try it with thinly sliced pancetta!<br /><br />Vinification: de-stemming of late harvested but perfectly healthy grapes; 12-hour cold maceration, pressing, natural must clarification, slow fermentation at a controlled<br />temperature of 18°C, ageing on fine lees for 5 months, filtration and bottling in March.<br /><br />Vineyard: south-facing slope at 450 to 500m above sea level. PINOT NERO RISERVA 'Matan'<br />GRAPE VARIETY: Pinot Noir<br />DESIGNATION: South Tyrol DOC<br />DESCRIPTION: Pinot Nero Matan comes from the most precious Pinot Noir vineyards in Montan. A wine with terroir, well-structured, with a pronounced elegance, rich in<br />aromatic nuances. The large temperature differences between day and night during the ripening period give this strong, dark red wine a particularly fruity character and imbue<br />the forest berry-scented Matan with longevity and race.<br />VINIFICATION: Fermentation takes place for 14-16 days in the fermentation tank with continuous submersion of the marc. During the 12 to 15 months of ageing in small and<br />large oak barrels and several months of bottle ageing, the flavour and aroma are refined.<br />ORIGIN: Site 'Glen' in Montan<br />SEA HEIGHT: 550m<br />STORAGE LIFE: 10 -20 years<br />RECOMMENDED SERVINGS: Ideal with red meat, game and spicy cheeses.<br />SERVING TEMPERATURE:16°C<br />
