Magnum Il Conte 2022 BIO...

A wine which tastes of Manincor; truly unique. The essence of the hills around the wine estate and the lake, full of vigour and warmth.

Grape varieties
Lagrein 48 %, Merlot 35 %, Cabernet 17 %

Location & soil
The Manincor estate and the Panholzerhof, both sites are south-east facing overlooking the Lake of Kaltern at an altitude of 250 m above sea level; soils are rich
comprising sand and clay mixed with limestone gravel and other morainal deposits. These vineyards are among the warmest in all South Tyrol, pre-destined for the
production of great red wines.

Expansion
Grapes from each parcel of vineyard were crushed separately and fermented in a mixture of oak and cement vats and stainless steel tanks using yeasts occurring naturally
in the vineyard. Skin contact lasted ten days and was rigorously controlled, during which time the cap of skins was pushed down into the fermenting liquid daily as it rose to
the surface in order to extract velvety, assertive but ripe tannins. Fresh fruit and elegance are the main qualities we strive for in this wine. The young wine was transferred
into oak barrels of varying sizes where it matured for twelve months.

Description & drinking recommendation
Concentrated bright ruby. A rich, seductive berry fruit and spice nose leads to a remarkably succulent, well-structured palate of white and black pepper, dark chocolate,
liquorice and damson with silky-textured tannins. Almost Burgundian in its drinkability.
Enjoy at optimum maturity from 2023 to the end of 2028.
Serve: just below room temperature, 60 - 64 °F
Delicious to accompany well-seasoned Mediterranean first courses, peppered lamb steaks and other dishes of fried or grilled red meat.

Our claim
Biodynamic
Vegan
La Rose de Manincor 2024...

Awards

2019 | Decanter | 95 points
2019 | Genuss Magazin | 91 points

Grape varieties

Merlot 35%, Cabernet Franc 30%, Pinot Noir 14%, Tempranillo 6%, Syrah 6%, Lagrein 5%, Petit Verdot 4%

Location & soil

Our best red wine sites in Manincor, at Seehof, Panholzerhof and in Mazzon, between 250 and 500 m above sea-level, with strong clayey soils interspersed with limestone
gravel and other glacial rock deposits.

Vintage

2023 was a challenging year with climatic conditions that were anything but easy. Through hard work and meticulous attention to detail, we ultimately achieved great results.
Our vines coped well with both the wet spring and the hot and dry summer, and the golden autumn helped us achieve perfect ripeness. Physiolog-ical ripeness, sugar
ripeness and acidity are in perfect balance. Ripe fruit, cool character and moderate alcohol characterise the vintage.
From mid-September to the end of October, we were able to harvest all our red wine varieties at the best time. The average yield per hectare was 53 hl.

Winemaking

La Rose de Manincor is the result of the top red wine batches being made by the saignée method, i.e. bleeding off a proportion of wine after only short contact with the
skins - in this case 6 to 12 hours; it increases the ratio of skins to juice in the vat in order to obtain a red wine with more colour and tannin. Consequently the composition
and character of the rosé wine may vary slightly from year to year. The lightly coloured juice so obtained is fermented in oak barrels partially using yeasts occurring
naturally on the grapes. The young wine is subsequently matured on the fine lees to allow the aromas and flavour to develop.

Data

Residual sugar: 0.9 g/l
Alcohol: 13 % vol.
Acidity: malolactic fermentation: 6.0 g/l

Description & drinking recommendation

Bright salmon red in colour with a bouquet reminiscent of raspberry and cherry, juicy and creamy on the palate, excellent length with a mineral-fruity aftertaste.
Enjoy at optimum maturity from early summer 2024 to the end of 2027.
Serve: very lightly chilled but not cold; 46 - 50 °F
An excellent match for well-seasoned first courses, fried or smoked fish as well as dishes of white and grilled meats.

Our claim

Biodynamic
Respekt-BIODYN
Vegan
Picus Rosso Piceno...

ROSSO PICENO SUPERIORE
Protected Designation of Origin
Blend 70% Montepulciano
30% Sangiovese

PICUS
For this selection of Rosso Piceno Superiore, the Latin name of the Picchio, the main symbol of Piceno civilisation, was chosen. This blend obtained from Montepulciano
and Sangiovese grapes, cultivated in the restricted and most vocated area of the Rosso Piceno D.O.C. denomination, through ageing in wood enhances its natural qualities
to a clearly superior level.

SENSORY ANALYSIS
A wine with an intense ruby red colour. The nose reveals a very broad aromatic complex in which notes of cherry and plum blend with those of sweet spices (cinnamon
and liquorice). The taste is full-bodied, rightly tannic and on the whole harmonious.

VINE: 70% Montepulciano, 30% Sangiovese.
VINEYARD AGE: 20-25 years with south-east exposure and altitude 250-300 m
SOIL: Clayey and loamy.
TRAINING: Double Guyot and spurred cordon.
YIELD: 70 HL/ha
HARVEST: Manual harvest with selection of the bunches from the first to the
second decade of October.
VINIFICATION: Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 2
weeks.
AGING: In French oak barrels for 12-15 months.
