Born from the union of Sangiovese, traditionally used in Tuscan reds, with Cabernet<br />Sauvignon and Syrah, not widely used and known in the Maremma in 1988, all grown in the clay-limestone soil of Poggio dell'Avvoltore, this wine marks a milestone in the<br />Moris family's legacy of producing high quality wines in the Tuscan Maremma.<br /><br />TASTING NOTES:<br />Colour: ruby red with purple highlights<br />Bouquet: complex, with hints of ripe fruit and vanilla<br />Taste: full-bodied and soft, with a distinct velvety feel<br />Serving temperature: 18°C<br />Pairing: great roasts<br /><br />TECHNICAL NOTES:<br />Production area: Poggio dell'Avvoltore, Tenuta Poggetti, Massa Marittima.<br />Soil: clayey, rich in skeleton, tendentially alkaline.<br />Exposure: South-West<br />Yield per hectare: 35 ql. of grapes<br /><br />PRODUCTION NOTES:<br />Harvest takes place the second and fourth week of September and the first and second week of October. Fermentation in cement tanks, with temperature control and two<br />daily pumpings over for the first 10 days. The wine remains for a further 15 days in contact with the skins before being drawn off and immediately put into 225-litre barriques<br />(80% new), where malolactic fermentation takes place. Maturation in wood lasts about a year, during which time the wine is racked. The wine remains in the bottle for six<br />months before being put on the market.<br />

Description:<br />Aroma of fully ripe wild berries and dark chocolate. Very dense and complex with fine tannins. Elegant Merlot with very good ageing potential.<br />Ageing potential: 6 - 8 years.<br />Recommended food: Goes well with hearty roasted or grilled meats with root vegetables and spicy dark sauces, as well as game dishes and cheeses.<br />Serving temperature: 16° C.<br />Grape variety: Merlot. The grapes come from 20-year-old trellised vineyards with a planting density of approx. 5,000 vines/ha.<br />Sites: Sun-exposed slope. Extremely dry and heat-retaining quartz porphyry weathered soil that only allows low yields.<br />Vinification: Must fermentation at 28-30° C in stainless steel tanks. Gentle circulation of grape skins and juice is used to achieve optimal extraction of colour and extract<br />substances. Further ageing takes place entirely in small wooden barrels for about 12 months. After gentle filling and 12 months of bottle ageing, the wine is put on sale.<br />

The demanding Gewürztraminer prefers warm, airy sites with deep, loamy soils. These conditions are found in the Brenntal vineyard in the north-west of the village of<br />Kurtatsch.<br /><br />The Gewürztraminer gets its multifaceted aromas from the red clay soils: lychee, roses, mango, caramelised orange peel and lavender. On the palate, the wine presents a<br />creamy texture and elegant acidity that balances the muscular body. The wine reaches its complexity after a longer ageing period in the cellar and in the bottle, which is<br />why the wine is only sold as a Riserva 2 years after the harvest. I Frati<br />Lugana Doc<br /><br />The wine that has made the company's image known and continues to do so. It has a direct link with its variety, Turbiana, our indigenous vine. Conceived to be consumed<br />during the year, it expresses its best side many years after bottling. In its youth it is fresh, linear and endowed with great finesse and elegance with delicate notes of white<br />flowers and balsamic, hints of apricot and almond. Time allows it to evolve, expressing its mineral notes with greater determination. The wine acquires its own complexity<br />with hints of iodine, spices and candied fruit. In the mouth it is capable of enveloping the whole palate thanks to an important savoury essence accompanied by lively and<br />exuberant acidity. Strongly<br />desired from the moment it was felt that certain areas and certain microclimates were suitable for making a wine like this. Marzemino, Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet make<br />it a wine that cannot go unnoticed. The nose is very rich with notes of red fruits, macerated blueberries, marasca cherries under spirits, balsamic and jammy hints. The<br />palate is powerful and incisive, clean, savoury, with a fine acidity that is a sign of the Benaco soil. According to an old tale, the goldfinch - the<br />'Cardellino' - builds its nest only in Chardonnay vines, while it does not nest in other grape varieties. To this faithful little bird Elena Walch has thus dedicated her debut, an<br />elegant and characterful Chardonnay, which has won many lovers with minerality, freshness, coupled with suppleness and excellent structure. The Chardonnay 'Cardellino'<br />has long become a classic of South Tyrol and continues to be the most popular wine at the table of the Walch family. A wine to which one remains faithful, just as the<br />Cardellino remains faithful to its Chardonnay.<br />The Chardonnay 'Cardellino' convinces with a strong, straw-yellow color, with a complex play of fruity aromas, citrus and orange peel, some lime blossom, mineral richness<br />and a spicy hint of tobacco. On the palate, this classic from Elena Walch surprises with exciting freshness and mineral race, with elegance and juicy length: inviting,<br />refreshing and easy to drink.<br /><br />COURSE OF THE VINTAGE 2022<br />An excellent vintage 2022 awaits you! Thanks to the warm, stable summer, grapes of the very best health and with balanced values have reached our cellar. The 2022<br />vintage began with a warm spring, which led to an early start of flowering. The following summer was consistently dry and warm, and hot in mid-summer. The drought did not<br />lead to any problems, not least thanks to our irrigation systems and meteostations in the vineyard. The warm summer months resulted in very healthy grapes of very good<br />quality and ripeness. The acidity levels were somewhat lower due to the vintage, but well balanced and were supported by targeted foliage work in the summer, as well as a<br />somewhat earlier harvest. The first grapes were harvested at the end of August - as always completely by hand. Overall, the wines are complex, with great structure and very<br />good fruit.<br /><br />VINIFICATION Gentle pressing, static clarification, fermentation at a controlled temperature of about 20°C, long contact with the yeast after fermentation. Part of the must<br />(about 15%) is fermented in French oak barrels where it matures for six months.
