ROSSO PICENO SUPERIORE<br />Protected Designation of Origin<br />Blend 70% Montepulciano<br />30% Sangiovese<br /><br />PICUS<br />For this selection of Rosso Piceno Superiore, the Latin name of the Picchio, the main symbol of Piceno civilisation, was chosen. This blend obtained from Montepulciano<br />and Sangiovese grapes, cultivated in the restricted and most vocated area of the Rosso Piceno D.O.C. denomination, through ageing in wood enhances its natural qualities<br />to a clearly superior level.<br /><br />SENSORY ANALYSIS<br />A wine with an intense ruby red colour. The nose reveals a very broad aromatic complex in which notes of cherry and plum blend with those of sweet spices (cinnamon<br />and liquorice). The taste is full-bodied, rightly tannic and on the whole harmonious.<br /><br />VINE: 70% Montepulciano, 30% Sangiovese.<br />VINEYARD AGE: 20-25 years with south-east exposure and altitude 250-300 m<br />SOIL: Clayey and loamy.<br />TRAINING: Double Guyot and spurred cordon.<br />YIELD: 70 HL/ha<br />HARVEST: Manual harvest with selection of the bunches from the first to the<br />second decade of October.<br />VINIFICATION: Fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 2<br />weeks.<br />AGING: In French oak barrels for 12-15 months.<br />ALCOHOL: 13.5% Vol<br />IDEAL TEMPERATURE: 16°C-18°C<br />

Und für die Kellerei Bozen.<br /><br />Der Kontrast von Berg und Tal, von Alpinem und Mediterranem, bestimmt den Charakter. Unsere Weißweine - Chardonnay, Sauvignon und Pinot Grigio - führt der Weg<br />aus dem Tal auf die teils sanften, teils steilen Rebhänge bei Bozen, hinauf bis auf den viel gerühmten Ritten. Trento d.o.c. blanc de blancspas dosè<br />It is the unceasing work of numerous sparkling wine producers who strongly believe in the territory and in the quality of a unique wine: producing a Trentodoc sparkling<br />wine is a precious art, a vocation, a skill.<br /><br />The skilful hands of Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga have given life to a new expression of their savoir faire with Trentodoc sparkling wine, a tribute to the mountains of<br />Trentino where it originates.<br />Marchesi Guerrieri Gonzaga sparkling wine is a Blanc de Blancs Pas Dosè. It is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes cultivated in the Pressano hills at an altitude of 400<br />metres, on marly-calcareous soils that produce structured wines, and in the upper Cembra valley at an altitude of between 400 and 700 metres on sandy soils of porphyry<br />origin, where more floral wines are produced, with a marked acidity and great freshness. The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand between the last ten days of August<br />and the first days of September. The grapes are immediately processed and fermentation is carried out exclusively in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. The wine<br />remains for at least 8 months on its yeasts, which give it complexity before being bottled. It then remains for a minimum of 36 months in refinement where the magic of the<br />wine comes to life. Finally, after disgorging, it rests a further 6 months in the silence of the cellars. The blend of these grapes from such different vineyards gives rise to an<br />extremely elegant and vertical sparkling wine with a strong identity, a tribute to the wonderful mountains of Trentino.<br />

Grape varieties<br /><br />Goldmuskateller (Golden Muscat)<br /><br />Location &amp; soil<br /><br />Mareit Leiten, 350 m elevation, very steep, southfacing slope with extremely long exposure to the sun and warm gravelly soil with moraine deposits. Vogelleiten und<br />Panholzer with clay-limestone gravel soil.<br /><br />Vintage<br /><br />2023 was a challenging year with climatic conditions that were anything but easy. Through hard work and meticulous attention to detail, we ultimately achieved great results.<br />Our vines coped well with both the wet spring and the hot and dry summer, and the golden autumn helped us achieve perfect ripeness. Physiolog-ical ripeness, sugar<br />ripeness and acidity are in perfect balance. Ripe fruit, cool character and moderate alcohol characterise the vintage.<br />The Golden Muscat grapes were left on the vines until the end of September for perfect maturity. The berries were a golden yellow, the aroma highly intense. At 55 hl per<br />hectare, the yield was low.<br /><br />Winemaking<br /><br />Grapes were de-stemmed and left to macerate in the press for twelve hours to enrich the juice with aroma substances and body leached from the skins. Fermentation took<br />place in oak and stainless steel tanks, partially with yeasts naturally occurring in the vineyard. The young wine was subsequently matured on the fine lees for five months to<br />enable the aromas and flavour to evolve<br /><br /><br />Data<br /><br />Residual sugar: 0.6 g/l<br />Alcohol: 12.5 % Vol.<br />Acidity: malolactic fermentation: 5.2 g/l<br /><br />Description &amp; drinking recommendation<br /><br />Intense golden yellow in colour, this seductive wine displays a ravishing floral perfume together with nutmeg, cedar, apricot and grapey fruit supported by a streak of racy,<br />vibrant acidity.<br />Enjoy at optimum maturity from early summer in 2024 to the end of 2027.<br />Serve: lightly chilled, 46 - 50 °F<br />Delicious as an aperitif it makes a wonderful partner to spicy Chinese and Thai foods or mature hard cheeses.<br /><br />Our claim<br /><br />Biodynamic<br />Respekt-BIODYN<br />Vegan<br />
