2018 CHATEAU CROIX MOUTON 'BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR'<br />THE YEAR.<br />The M printed on the label of this fine-tasting and fleshy Bordeaux Supérieur wine marks the personality and particularities of each vintage and changes colour every year.<br />This cuvée from Château Croix Mouton, which dominates the Dordogne, is made exclusively from Merlot, the emblematic grape variety of the right bank of the Garonne, and<br />has a deep ruby red colour with beautiful shiny reflections. On the palate, small, acidic red fruits (mainly red plum, cherry) follow one another. On the palate it is full-bodied<br />and juicy, full of charming finesse. This wine is best appreciated when young, when its fruity bouquet shows all its vivacity.<br />THE CHÂTEAU CROIX MOUTON ESTATE<br />Château Croix Mouton is located in the town of Lugon on the right bank of the Bordeaux River and covers almost 70 hectares of vines. It is owned by the Janoueix family and<br />thrives on the clayey soil of Carney Island. The 2019 grape varieties focus on Merlot (96%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (2.5%), Malbec (1%) and Petit Verdot (0.5%).<br />The vines are on average 38 years old. The planting density is about 3,600 to 6,000 vines per hectare.<br />The work in the vineyard is meticulous and includes tillage, grassing, thinning and some leaf thinning. After sorting at harvest, vinification takes place in concrete and<br />stainless steel tanks with openings and regular puncturing. Fermentation takes place under temperature control (maximum 26-27 °C). The maturation period is between<br />three weeks and one month. Maturation lasts between three and four months on the fine lees in barrels (20%) and in vats with or without wood (80%).<br />The top Bordeaux produced by the estate are pleasant, fruity wines that tend to be drunk at a young age. Gourmet and fleshy wines that are also quite accessible.<br />

PIPA<br />PIPA is the exotic wine in our range. PIPA is a fortified wine - vino liquoroso, inspired by port wine. This first South Tyrolean 'port' is vinified from Lagrein grapes and is a<br />long-lasting and complex dessert wine produced along the lines of a vintage Ruby. The name 'PIPA' comes from the typical oak barrels in which the port wine is stored in<br />Portugal. 'After a trip to the Douro Valley in Portugal, I wanted to try my hand at making a port wine myself: I wanted to capture and preserve the typical cherry notes of the<br />Lagrein during fermentation. After several experiments, I was able to refine and perfect the process.' FranzGojer<br /><br />Site: Auer: Stony alluvial soil of the Etsch river. The warm porphyry is ideal for the grape variety. Guyot cultivation with 5,000 vines per hectare.<br /><br />Vinification: Hand harvest and gentle processing. Cold maceration and fermentation in open oak vats with light toasting. Intensive extraction by continuous immersion of the<br />marc cap in the must. Addition of brandy to the fermenting must to kill the yeasts and stop fermentation. Ageing in PIPA oak barrels for 6 months. Bottling and ageing in<br />bottle.<br /><br />Sensory characteristics: Intense garnet red with violet nuances. Smells wonderfully and intensely of fully ripe cherries and wild berries, Full-bodied and fine in the mouth. The<br />strong tannin and the juicy acidity act as an ideal counterpart to the sweetness and thus form a complex taste picture. The long, fruity finish flatters the palate. Suitable for<br />chocolate desserts of all kinds, the more intense and noble the chocolate, the better the combination.<br />

Pomino Bianco Riserva DOC<br /><br />'On the road to Pomino I am thrilled every time I discover this unique corner of Tuscany: hills and cypresses suddenly give way to steep slopes, cooler temperatures in<br />summer and snow in winter, magnificent forests of firs and centuries-old sequoias surrounding the vineyards of Chardonnay, planted here since 1855. At an altitude of 700<br />metres, the Cru Benefizio, the first white wine in Italy fermented and aged in barriques, was born in 1973.'<br /><br />Climatic trend<br />The 2021 season will be remembered as a dynamic vintage. After a rainy and mild winter, which had led to a slight advance in budding, temperatures dropped sharply at the<br />beginning of April, slightly slowing the growth of the buds. From May onwards, temperatures began to rise again, leading to a summer that will be remembered for both the<br />beautiful day-night temperature range and the long period of intense heat. The grapes presented themselves at harvest in a perfect state of health, thanks to the mild<br />temperatures and low humidity.<br /><br />Vinification and ripening<br />The Benefizio vineyard is located at an altitude of 700 m above sea level, with a southern exposure and predominantly sandy soil. The Chardonnay grapes were harvested in<br />boxes by hand with extreme care and attention. Once they arrived in the cellar, the pressing they underwent was extremely soft and gentle, allowing a good extraction of<br />clear must, which was further clarified after cold decantation. The musts thus obtained were placed in barriques, 50% new and 50% first-passage, where they underwent<br />alcoholic fermentation and only partially malolactic fermentation. Subsequently, the wine matured in wood, on the lees, with bâtonnage carried out as required. After further<br />bottle ageing, Benefizio Riserva reached its maximum taste-olfactory expression in terms of elegance and harmony.<br /><br />Tasting notes<br />Elegance, expressiveness and body. Benefizio 2021 presents a wonderful straw yellow colour with golden highlights. The bouquet is varied, presenting hints of white fruit<br />such as pear, exotic fruit notes such as mango, banana and pineapple and more citrus notes of candied citron. The citrus sensation is also picked up by hints of orange<br />blossom. On the palate it is savoury and mineral, with an elegant and harmonious finish; the aromatic intensity perceived on the palate is amplified by the alcohol content<br />and the aftertaste of dried fruit. Subsequent malolactic fermentation and ageing in medium French oak barrels<br />(22hl) and partly in steel tanks.<br /><br />DEGUSTATION: The Pinot Noir Elena Walch presents itself with a clear, fresh ruby red. A fruity play of aromas with red berries, cherries and raspberries as well as spicy<br />notes with some white pepper characterise the nose. On the palate, the wine convinces with a juicy structure and inviting freshness, with soft, velvety tannins, discreet spice<br />in the background as well as a youthfully elegant finish.<br /><br />TERROIR: An interesting combination of vineyards in fresher sites between 400m a.s.l. up to 600m a.s.l.. Limestone and porphyry soils in south-eastern and south-western<br />exposure. Harvested and selected by hand with the utmost care.<br /><br />LESE 2022: An excellent vintage 2022 awaits you! Thanks to the warm, stable summer, grapes of the very best health and with balanced values have reached our cellar.<br />The 2022 wine year started with a warm spring, which led to an early start of flowering. The following summer was consistently dry and warm, and hot in mid-summer. The<br />drought did not lead to any problems, not least thanks to our irrigation systems and meteostations in the vineyard. The warm summer months resulted in very healthy<br />grapes of very good quality and ripeness. The acidity levels were somewhat lower due to the vintage, but well balanced and were supported by targeted foliage work in the<br />summer, as well as a somewhat earlier harvest. The first grapes were harvested at the end of August - as always completely by hand. STEINRAFFLER<br />VIGNA LAGREIN<br /><br />A wanderer between worlds. On the one hand dense and concentrated and almost rustic in a pleasant way, it nevertheless reveals a certain elegance. The colour is deep<br />dark and garnet red with an almost black core. The bouquet reveals a mixture of earthy-mineral and spicy notes. The initially delicate fruit develops increasingly in the glass<br />and is reminiscent of dark, ripe plums. On the palate, the spice components continue, with the finish gaining in complexity due to the mineral notes that emerge once again.<br /><br />This grape variety, unique to South Tyrol, finds very good growing conditions in the vineyards of our Steinraffler winery. Here, in 1990, we planted the short-stemmed Lagrein,<br />a variety that had almost fallen into oblivion in South Tyrol, grafted it onto weak-growing rootstocks and grew it on wire frames. The rebirth of this old, autochthonous red wine<br />variety represents for us a happy combination of tradition and innovation.<br /><br />In South Tyrol, only the 'Vigna' classification guarantees the origin of a site wine.<br /><br />Grape variety: Lagrein<br />Soil: Loam and sandy soils<br />Vinification: After delivery, the destemmed grapes enter the fermentation tank. After a short maceration, the mash is fermented for about 10 days.<br />Maturation: It matures for 15 months in small oak barrels, another 7 months after the assemblage in large oak barrels and at least 12 months in the bottle.<br />Food recommendation: Red meats, game, mild cheeses.<br />

TYPE OF WINE: Red wine AOC Corbières<br />PRODUCTION AREA: The estate is nestled in the rugged hills just behind the Mediterranean coast of Narbonne, in the south of France.<br />GRAPE VARIETIES: Syrah 36%, Grenache noir 35%, Mourvèdre 12%, Carignan 9%, Alicante-henri-bouschet 8%.<br />VINIFICATION: made according to the traditional method. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete tanks. During<br />fermentation, the wine is regularly pumped to allow gentle extraction of the tannins. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is left untouched for a couple of days. The total<br />maceration time is 15-2 days.<br />COLOUR: ruby red<br />BOUQUET: Pure, sunny bouquet with notes of flint and graphite. These aromas are mixed with scents of thyme, black truffle, a little liquorice and eucalyptus.<br />FLAVOUR: The palate has the same mineral character, but on a slightly different register (mentholated verbena, sage, laurel). Secondary notes (from fermentation) of<br />blackcurrant and blueberry jam and a hint of fruit brandy, a sign of the beginning of a very harmonious evolution. The tannins are well integrated, giving the wine a perfectly<br />balanced structure.<br />
