Notes of candied fruit, plum and oak are perceived on the nose. In the mouth, it reveals itself to be well structured with considerable<br />amplitude. The finish is rich in pastry aromas (vanilla, candied fruit) and citrus fruit.<br />

Mllésimé 1990<br />40°vol<br /><br />THE DISTILLERY<br />Founded by Pascal Dartigalongue under the reign of Louis-Philippe in 1838, the Maison Dartigalongue is now the oldest producer of Bas Armagnacs. Based in Nogaro, in<br />the heart of Bas Armagnac, it distils only wines from this area, reputed for the refinement of its crus.<br /><br />CHARACTERISTICS<br />Between Gers and Landes, the continuous still is used at 58% vol. and the 'Charantais' system, recognised by the 1972 decree as being of superior quality thanks to the<br />elimination of impurities and the consequent obtainment of a more refined and elegant spirit.The minimum ageing period of 7-8 years takes place in new (30%) Guasconian<br />oak casks of 400 litres. SOIL: sandy-loamy. GRAPES: Ugni Blanc, Baco and Folle Blanche.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />The intense amber colour anticipates clean hints of coffee and dried flowers. The palate has good texture, body and length with candied fruit aftertaste.<br />

TYPOLOGY: Fortified wine<br /><br />PRODUCTION AREA: Juillac-Le-Coq<br /><br />RAW MATERIAL: Cabernet Sauvignon 50%, Merlot 50%.<br /><br />DISTILLATION: Obtained from a mixture of fermented grapes and Cognac. Fermentation is stopped by adding cognac at 60° when the must reaches 10 degrees alcohol. The<br />result is a fortified must with an alcohol content of between 16° and 22°. The production process continues with the addition of one part cognac for every 4 parts must.<br />Finally, the product thus obtained is decanted into barrels that have contained the cognac.<br /><br />GRAPE VARIETIES: Cabernet Sauvignon 50%, Merlot 50%.<br /><br />COLOUR: intense ruby red<br /><br />BOUQUET: aromas of red fruits emerge on the nose<br /><br />FLAVOUR: velvety and round on the palate. The sip is elegant, round and full. Long finish with good intensity.<br />NOTES: The Maison Clément has been producing Rhum Vieux Agricole since 1887, respecting the rules of the A.O.C. Homère Clément was the first to use the purity and<br />richness of cane juice, which are still fundamental in the production of a perfectly natural Rhum. After fermentation, it is distilled and placed in small American oak barrels to<br />achieve incomparable finesse.<br />AGEING: 4 years and 9 months in American oak barrels.<br />
