Quercegobbe<br />Merlot 100%<br />A real cru from which the merlot grapes used to produce the wine come.<br /><br />Quercegobbe is in an ideal position, on the edge of the Mediterranean maquis but close to the winery, on a well-ventilated hill overlooking the sea.<br /><br />Very concentrated ruby colour. Wide and intriguing nose, at first in the fruity notes of blueberries, raspberries, sour cherries and plums, then in the Mediterranean<br />component of myrtle, rosemary and liquorice.<br />The body is dense, rich overall, soft, with smooth tannins. As vigorous as it is balanced, it is an impactful red that does not betray expectations.<br />Production methodPrecious threads from the past weave a modern weave.<br />The production method is rigorously aimed at defending the territorial connotation.<br /><br />It ferments in truncated conical oak vats and matures for 15 months, partly in new 600-litre demi-muids and partly in second-passage barriques. First born among the wines that make up the MOMA line dedicated to the world of art, the label bears the work Golden Glass by Milanese artist Beatrice Pani, first prize-<br />winner at the third edition of the Umberto Cesari Art Contest.<br /><br />Blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown on medium-textured clay soils. The vineyards have an average age of 15 years and a yield of 80 quintals of<br />grapes per hectare. Fermented in vertical steel vats at controlled temperature for 12-14 days. Matured for 6 months in 30 HL Slavonian oak casks and a further 3 months in<br />bottle.<br /><br />Colour: light red with violet reflections.<br />Bouquet: intense plum, violet and red fruits.<br />Taste: pleasantly velvety on the palate, with the fruity hints typical of Sangiovese, the softness of Merlot and the 'balsamicity' of Cabernet Sauvignon. To this faithful little bird Elena Walch has thus dedicated her debut, an<br />elegant and characterful Chardonnay, which has won many lovers with minerality, freshness, coupled with suppleness and excellent structure. The Chardonnay 'Cardellino'<br />has long become a classic of South Tyrol and continues to be the most popular wine at the table of the Walch family. A wine to which one remains faithful, just as the<br />Cardellino remains faithful to its Chardonnay.<br />The Chardonnay 'Cardellino' convinces with a strong, straw-yellow color, with a complex play of fruity aromas, citrus and orange peel, some lime blossom, mineral richness<br />and a spicy hint of tobacco. On the palate, this classic from Elena Walch surprises with exciting freshness and mineral race, with elegance and juicy length: inviting,<br />refreshing and easy to drink.<br /><br />COURSE OF THE VINTAGE 2022<br />An excellent vintage 2022 awaits you! Thanks to the warm, stable summer, grapes of the very best health and with balanced values have reached our cellar. The 2022<br />vintage began with a warm spring, which led to an early start of flowering. The following summer was consistently dry and warm, and hot in mid-summer. The drought did not<br />lead to any problems, not least thanks to our irrigation systems and meteostations in the vineyard. The warm summer months resulted in very healthy grapes of very good<br />quality and ripeness. The acidity levels were somewhat lower due to the vintage, but well balanced and were supported by targeted foliage work in the summer, as well as a<br />somewhat earlier harvest. The first grapes were harvested at the end of August - as always completely by hand. Overall, the wines are complex, with great structure and very<br />good fruit.<br /><br />VINIFICATION Gentle pressing, static clarification, fermentation at a controlled temperature of about 20°C, long contact with the yeast after fermentation. Part of the must<br />(about 15%) is fermented in French oak barrels where it matures for six months.
