Lagrein 2022<br />South Tyrol DOC<br /><br />VINEYARDS: 100% Lagrein<br />VINIFICATION: traditional maceration of 10 days at controlled temperature in steel barrels. Subsequent malolactic fermentation in large 70hl and medium 22hl wooden<br />barrels of French and Slavonian oak. This is followed by further ageing in wooden barrels.<br /><br />DEGUSTATION: the Lagrein Elena Walch invites with an intense and dense garnet red colour. The multi-layered bouquet captivates with discreet spicy aromas, with cocoa<br />as well as wild berries and heart cherries in the background. A distinctive<br />tannin structure, supple fullness, a playful rustic elegance and youthful freshness as well as a juicy, long finish convince on the palate.<br /><br />TERROIR: warmer sites on chalky soils with clay and sand on both sides of the ridge, facing southeast and southwest. Hand-picked and selected with the utmost care.<br /><br />Serving suggestions: with strong dishes such as game, dark meat and piquant cheeses.<br /><br />Designation: South Tyrol DOC<br /><br />Harvest: Harvested by hand with the utmost care<br />

Extra-Brut Première Cuvée<br />45% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay, 22% Pinot Meunier<br /><br />Production area: Reims<br />Soil: limestone<br />Harvest: manual<br />Vinification: 32 Crus vinified separately in tanks or barrels. Reserve wines made up of 25 different vintages blended since 1985, in proportions of up to 50%.<br />Maturation: on the lees for 40 months, resting in the cellar for at least 3 to 4 months after disgorgement and before marketing<br />Colour: brilliant straw gold, revealing the exclusive use of the first pressing and the important percentage of Chardonnay. Very fine and extremely lively perlage<br />Bouquet: fresh and fruity, dominated by citrus aromas - green lemon, grapefruit - typical of Chardonnay. Then the red fruits appear: black cherry, currant, raspberry, typical<br />of Pinot Noir.<br />Taste: A lively attack thanks to a weak dosage that respects the authenticity of the wine. The minerality of the chalk is noticeable. Flavours of citrus, almond, toasted bread,<br />but also of currant jelly and black fruits such as cherry are immediately apparent.<br />Bitterness: 6 g/l<br />Alcoholic Grade: 12% vol<br />

PINOT NERO RISERVA 'Matan'<br />GRAPE VARIETY: Pinot Noir<br />DESIGNATION: South Tyrol DOC<br />DESCRIPTION: Pinot Nero Matan comes from the most precious Pinot Noir vineyards in Montan. A wine with terroir, well-structured, with a pronounced elegance, rich in<br />aromatic nuances. The large temperature differences between day and night during the ripening period give this strong, dark red wine a particularly fruity character and imbue<br />the forest berry-scented Matan with longevity and race.<br />VINIFICATION: Fermentation takes place for 14-16 days in the fermentation tank with continuous submersion of the marc. During the 12 to 15 months of ageing in small and<br />large oak barrels and several months of bottle ageing, the flavour and aroma are refined.<br />ORIGIN: Site 'Glen' in Montan<br />SEA HEIGHT: 550m<br />STORAGE LIFE: 10 -20 years<br />RECOMMENDED SERVINGS: Ideal with red meat, game and spicy cheeses.<br />SERVING TEMPERATURE:16°C<br />
