CLOUDY BAY<br />SAUVIGNON<br />Pure, fresh and vibrant<br /><br />With its extraordinary aromas, Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc was an instant success when it appeared on the market in 1985. This wine put New Zealand on the global wine<br />map and made Sauvignon Blanc famous as a single varietal wine. More than 80 expressions of 98 parcels are used in its creation, with yields kept low to produce a wine<br />with a concentrated aroma. The winemaking process aims to preserve and enhance the fresh, fruity notes, using selected yeasts and stainless steel vats, along with a small<br />percentage of barrel fermentation to give structure but without hinting of oak.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />Intense and vibrant, with aromas of ripe passion fruit, white peach and a hint of lime. The palate is deliciously concentrated and tropical, with saline notes providing<br />structure, while the passion fruit and vibrant citrus acidity bring balance.<br />

An explosive harmony.<br /><br />THE NOSE<br />The nose is complete and voluble, an interweaving of flowers and fruits, followed by the union of vegetal and mineral notes. The bouquet is tactile, a discreet invitation to<br />follow the powdery trail of white flowers, edged by the sweetness of apricot and mirabella, and then arriving at the freshness of rhubarb and mint, to the minerality of ash.<br />White pepper.<br /><br />THE PALATE<br />It is energy that dominates the palate. The grapes for this aromatic wine, of a delicate straw yellow colour and with a complex, elegant and musky bouquet, ripen in vineyards well exposed to the sun, from south<br />to south-west, and bring sweetness, flavour and a very long aromatic persistence to the glass, reminiscent of the flavours and aromas of ripe grapes.<br />It ideally accompanies desserts and in particular creams, fruit tarts and small pastries.<br /><br />TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION:<br />Vineyard exposure: east-south to south-west.<br />Soil composition: clayey-tufaceous soil rich in limestone, which enhances the finesse and aromaticity of the wines, very important for this grape variety.<br />Vine density: 4800 vines per hectare.<br />Type of training: low plant with simple guyot, tending to bring the leafy part upwards, in order to expose the bunches to the sun and encourage photosynthesis on the<br />leaves. This<br />method consolidates the full and intense character of Pinot Noir with the characteristic freshness of Chardonnay.
