First born among the wines that make up the MOMA line dedicated to the world of art, the label bears the work Golden Glass by Milanese artist Beatrice Pani, first prize-<br />winner at the third edition of the Umberto Cesari Art Contest.<br /><br />Blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown on medium-textured clay soils. The vineyards have an average age of 15 years and a yield of 80 quintals of<br />grapes per hectare. Fermented in vertical steel vats at controlled temperature for 12-14 days. Matured for 6 months in 30 HL Slavonian oak casks and a further 3 months in<br />bottle.<br /><br />Colour: light red with violet reflections.<br />Bouquet: intense plum, violet and red fruits.<br />Taste: pleasantly velvety on the palate, with the fruity hints typical of Sangiovese, the softness of Merlot and the 'balsamicity' of Cabernet Sauvignon. After completing malolactic<br />fermentation,the wine matures in 25-hectolitre barrels of Slavonian oak.<br />Bottling normally takes place in August. The Barolo Ginestra Casa<br />Matèthen stays in the binning cellar for 8-10 months before release.<br />

The thermal values characterise a rather warm environment, with very low annual rainfall and very high temperature ranges, a condition that has a beneficial<br />influence on the quality of the grapes. This is the classic production area for Primitivo di Manduria PDO<br /><br />Soil: fine-textured residual red soil with a calcareous substratum and sparse rocky outcrops. The famous red hue of these soils derives from an intense presence of iron<br />oxides<br /><br />Harvest: Mid-September<br />Vinification: Manual harvesting of the grapes when slightly overripe; destemming-crushing, pre-fermentation maceration at 8°C for 24-48 hours. Thermo-controlled maceration<br />and alcoholic fermentation with selected yeasts for about 10 days at 24-26°C. The frost night in May and the hailstorm in<br />August put the vegetation in the vineyard to a hard test. Nevertheless, thanks to the wonderful autumn weather with warm days and cold nights the harvest went very well.<br />2019 is a vintage that reflects our terroir. The wines present themselves very fruity and typical of their variety, with fresh and pleasant acidity. - summarizes our winemaker<br />Celestino Lucin. All in all, 2019 presents itself as an exceptional vintage with lower quantity but convincing levels of quality.<br />
