CLOUDY BAY<br />SAUVIGNON<br />Pure, fresh and vibrant<br /><br />With its extraordinary aromas, Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc was an instant success when it appeared on the market in 1985. This wine put New Zealand on the global wine<br />map and made Sauvignon Blanc famous as a single varietal wine. More than 80 expressions of 98 parcels are used in its creation, with yields kept low to produce a wine<br />with a concentrated aroma. The winemaking process aims to preserve and enhance the fresh, fruity notes, using selected yeasts and stainless steel vats, along with a small<br />percentage of barrel fermentation to give structure but without hinting of oak.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />Intense and vibrant, with aromas of ripe passion fruit, white peach and a hint of lime. The palate is deliciously concentrated and tropical, with saline notes providing structure,<br />while the passion fruit and vibrant citrus acidity bring balance.<br />

CHARDONNAY<br />Fragrant, structured and elegant<br />Having become part of the range since the 1986 vintage, Chardonnay was the second wine to be marketed by the estate, after Sauvignon Blanc. Cloudy Bay Chardonnay<br />comes from vineyards located in the sub-regions of Omaka, Brancott, Rapaura and Renwick and requires the same time and precision as a great Burgundy white: around 2<br />years of oak ageing.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />Immediately seductive and perfumed, with aromas of white peach, apricot, flowering trees and warm hay. The palate is concentrated and inviting: hints of apple and pear<br />balanced by vanilla, hazelnut and a delicate saline note. The finish is long and fascinating, refreshed by a hint of citrusy acidity.<br />

The iconic wine behind the Cloudy Bay tale<br /><br />Defined New Zealand's wine and established the Marlborough wine region globall.<br /><br />For its 35th vintage, Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc celebrates in style with this elegant classic. 2019 provided the ideal conditions to make the style of wine for which Cloudy<br />Bay is famous - bright, vibrant, with an elegant balance of tropical and citrus characters.<br /><br />Nose<br />Immediately expressive in the glass, with notes of bright, ripe citrus, makrut lime, passionfruit and white peach.<br />Palate<br />The palate is vibrant and mouthwatering, with concentrated juicy tropical notes, underpinned by a lively grapefruit acidity, carrying the intense fruit characters<br /><br />Harvest<br /><br />The Sauvignon Blanc harvest commenced on March 15th and was completed on April 2nd, the earliest finish to a Sauvignon Blanc harvest in the 34 years since Cloudy Bay<br />was founded. Fruit was picked with ripe flavour and a delicious concentration.<br />Vinification<br /><br />Following the harvest, the free-run was cold-settled, before racking and inoculation with selected yeast. Fermentation was carried out primarily in stainless steel tanks, with<br />approximately 5% of the blend fermented at warmer temperatures in old French oak vats.
