Cabernet Sauvignon 2021...
Campaner Cabernet Sauvignon Riserva DOC 2021

Broad as a horizon. Colourful as a winter sunset. And the colour is joy.

Vintage: in many respects 2021 was a demanding and challenging wine growing year. The winter months were mainly sunny but very cold. In spring the temperature was
slow to rise, and that delayed the vegetative development of the vines. This was only partly compensated by the warm and sunny start to the summer, while the weather in
July and August was very varied. The grape harvest accordingly began relatively late, on September 9. The wet September was an organizational problem for our wine
growers, but ultimately a very good harvest was completed on October 26.

Tasting notes

- dark, ruby red
- ripe blackberries, wild cherries and chocolate on the nose
- a powerful beginning on the palate, with increasing tannins, prominent fruit and a long, lingering finish

Recommendation: this wine pairs perfectly with red meats, game and piquant cheeses.

Vinification: fermentation on the skins at 28 °C, two week extended maceration, malolactic and 16 month aging in barrique (1/4 new oak), a light filtration before bottling.

Vineyard: steep, southerly exposed slopes at 250 - 350 meters above sea level. Loamy, chalky, stoney gravel, heat-retaining and well-drained

Varietal(s): Cabernet Sauvignon
Age of vines: 15 - 30 years
Temperature: 16 - 18 °C
Age-ability: 2024 - 2029
Yield: 60 hl/ha
Vine training: Wire-trained
Alcohol: 13,5 %
Residual sugar: 1,5 g/l
Tot. Acidity: 5,4 g/l
Contains sulphites
LOAM Cabernet-Merlot...
A rarity in the Alpine region are sites with a microclimate in which even red late varieties reach the stage of full ripeness. Loam Cabernet-Merlot owes its exceptional
character to the weather-protected location and the special nature and heat storage capacity of the soils of its vineyards.

Vintage description: the winter ended with abundant snow in the mountains. Warmer temperatures in March and April caused an early and rather uneven budding in the well-
supplied soils. A cool May then delayed the flowering. In humid and hot June, a high fungal disease pressure developed, which could be contained through sensitivity and a
lot of careful manual work. The rest of the summer was largely dry and was only interrupted by short, heavy thunderstorms. Two hot spells had practically no negative
effects. A significant drop in the lowest temperatures began in mid-August. High temperature differences between day and night characterised the weather throughout the
harvest. The harvest took place about 14 days later than in the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage show an impressive freshness, Gewürztraminer are
characterised by particular elegance. The red wines present a lot of fruit and a lively tannin structure.

Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Cabernet Franc (25%), Merlot (35%).
Yield: 45 hl/hectare
Altitude: 250 - 350 m
Soil: Clay with calcareous content
Age of vines: 15 - 25 years
Exposure: south-east 90 %, south 10
Climate: extreme interplay between sunny days dominated by the Mediterranean climate and night hours dominated by cold downdrafts from the surrounding mountains

Serving temperature 16-18° C
Residual sugar 0.7 g/l
Total acidity 5,4 g/l
Alcohol 14 % vol
