2018 CHATEAU CROIX MOUTON 'BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR'<br />THE YEAR.<br />The M printed on the label of this fine-tasting and fleshy Bordeaux Supérieur wine marks the personality and particularities of each vintage and changes colour every year.<br />This cuvée from Château Croix Mouton, which dominates the Dordogne, is made exclusively from Merlot, the emblematic grape variety of the right bank of the Garonne,<br />and has a deep ruby red colour with beautiful shiny reflections. On the palate, small, acidic red fruits (mainly red plum, cherry) follow one another. On the palate it is full-<br />bodied and juicy, full of charming finesse. This wine is best appreciated when young, when its fruity bouquet shows all its vivacity.<br />THE CHÂTEAU CROIX MOUTON ESTATE<br />Château Croix Mouton is located in the town of Lugon on the right bank of the Bordeaux River and covers almost 70 hectares of vines. It is owned by the Janoueix family<br />and thrives on the clayey soil of Carney Island. The 2019 grape varieties focus on Merlot (96%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (2.5%), Malbec (1%) and Petit Verdot<br />(0.5%). The vines are on average 38 years old. The planting density is about 3,600 to 6,000 vines per hectare.<br />The work in the vineyard is meticulous and includes tillage, grassing, thinning and some leaf thinning. After sorting at harvest, vinification takes place in concrete and<br />stainless steel tanks with openings and regular puncturing. Fermentation takes place under temperature control (maximum 26-27 °C). The maturation period is between<br />three weeks and one month. Maturation lasts between three and four months on the fine lees in barrels (20%) and in vats with or without wood (80%).<br />The top Bordeaux produced by the estate are pleasant, fruity wines that tend to be drunk at a young age. Gourmet and fleshy wines that are also quite accessible.<br />

The<br />maturatThe story of Ampélia is about a meeting, a challenge and a conviction.<br />In 1996, three years before acquiring the lands of Ampélia, François Despagne inherited the<br />Grand Corbin-Despagne estate from his family, making it the seventh generation of his<br />family at the helm of this Saint-Emilion property.<br />François then eagerly sought a new challenge and created a new vineyard -this time, not in<br />Saint-Emilion, but in Castillon - Côtes de Bordeaux, the bordering appellation.ion period is between three weeks and one month. Fermentation in cement tanks, with temperature control and two<br />daily pumpings over for the first 10 days. The wine remains for a further 15 days in contact with the skins before being drawn off and immediately put into 225-litre<br />barriques (80% new), where malolactic fermentation takes place. Maturation in wood lasts about a year, during which time the wine is racked. The wine remains in the<br />bottle for six months before being put on the market.<br />

The Wine<br /><br />For over five years, Cabreo has expressed the perfect harmony between tradition, innovation and suitability for the territory in which it is born: Greve in Chianti. This wine<br />is the result of a careful blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, which respectively give softness, strength and elegance, and of a long aging in small French<br />oak barrels.<br />Vintage: The 2020 vintage is purple red, crystalline and bright, on the nose it presents a synergistic sensorial profile between the descriptors of wood and those of<br />cabernet. It is a Pinot Noir vineyard of rare excellence: slightly<br />cooler, with less intensive sunshine and ideal soil. Rich ruby red in colour, the Pinot Noir KARAL reveals notes of cherry, blueberry, and coffee. The interplay<br />continues on the palate, spiced with delicate roasted aromas. The Merlot NUSSLEITEN vines thrive in the Seehof vineyard, facing south with a view of Lake Kaltern, while the mountains at their back provide protection from the north.<br />There, purple shimmering berries of excellent quality unfold their ruby red potential. Powerful spice on the nose with pepper, wild berries, redcurrant, notes of coffee and<br />cocoa, and a hint of pine needles. Multi-faceted, full-bodied mouthfeel with alpine freshness, a strong presence and incomparable elegance. Its long and complex finish<br />exudes great finesse.<br /><br />Manual harvesting and selection of the grapes from the historic Nussleiten vineyard. After destemming, the stainless steel tanks are filled by gravity, followed by mash<br />fermentation under controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation and ageing exclusively in new barriques for 18 months.
