Intense and ripe fruit, but<br />still fresh, orbid and almost sweet tannins give pleasantness and fragrance. Long-lived.<br />

Maceration on the skins for about 30 days at fairly high temperatures.<br />AGING:<br />In French and Slavonian oak barrels for about 30 months and a small part in barriques.<br />NOTES:<br />A very classic style Barolo: elegance and finesse, ripe and spicy fruit, important but not overpowering tannins, good structure and concentration. ALGHERO CABERNET RISERVA DOC<br />MARCHESE DI VILLAMARINA<br /><br />Grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon 100%.<br />Origin: Alghero<br />Average age of vines: 11 years<br />Vinification: Pre-fermentation maceration at 10°C for 24 hours;<br />fermentation at controlled temperature 18 months<br />Ageing: 50% in new French barriques, 50% in second passage barriques; followed by 12 months of refinement in the bottle<br />Malolactic fermentation: Yes<br />Alcohol content: 13.5 %.<br />Total acidity: 5.7 g/l<br /><br />One of the great Italian reds, a reference point among pure Cabernet Sauvignons and the pride of the Sella &amp; Mosca project. It comes from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes<br />grown on strong soils of ferrous clay, combined by an ancient geological chaos with sand of aeolian nature. A terroir that influences and shapes the variety in a<br />Mediterranean key, making the wine unique and seductive. After harvesting, the grapes ferment with long maceration on the skins, then the wine is placed to mature in<br />barriques for about 18 months. After bottling, it rests in the cellar for a further 12 months. A decisive ruby colour with violet streaks, it is enveloped by ample perfumes of<br />great intensity, defined by notes of morello cherry and blackcurrant, tobacco and spices. The sip, rhythmic and silky, has specific weight and structure that the good acidity<br />maintains in formidable balance. The finish is warm and seductive, with a very long persistence.<br />

The Pinot Noir comes from the historic Preyhof estate, located not far from Sallegg Castle above Kaltern. It is a Pinot Noir vineyard of rare excellence: slightly<br />cooler, with less intensive sunshine and ideal soil. Rich ruby red in colour, the Pinot Noir KARAL reveals notes of cherry, blueberry, and coffee. The interplay<br />continues on the palate, spiced with delicate roasted aromas. The balanced acidity and pronounced tannins reinforce the firm structure of the wine. The finish<br />is elegant, long and persistent.<br /><br />Manual harvesting and selection of the grapes from the oldest vines at the Preyhof. After destemming (10% whole bunches), filling of the stainless steel tanks<br />by gravity. Cold maceration (5 days) followed by fermentation, gentle pressing, and malolactic fermentation. Ageing in barriques and tonneaux (20% new),<br />with subsequent blending after one year of ageing.
