2018 CHATEAU CROIX MOUTON 'BORDEAUX SUPERIEUR'<br />THE YEAR.<br />The M printed on the label of this fine-tasting and fleshy Bordeaux Supérieur wine marks the personality and particularities of each vintage and changes<br />colour every year. This cuvée from Château Croix Mouton, which dominates the Dordogne, is made exclusively from Merlot, the emblematic grape variety of<br />the right bank of the Garonne, and has a deep ruby red colour with beautiful shiny reflections. On the palate, small, acidic red fruits (mainly red plum, cherry)<br />follow one another. On the palate it is full-bodied and juicy, full of charming finesse. This wine is best appreciated when young, when its fruity bouquet<br />shows all its vivacity.<br />THE CHÂTEAU CROIX MOUTON ESTATE<br />Château Croix Mouton is located in the town of Lugon on the right bank of the Bordeaux River and covers almost 70 hectares of vines. It is owned by the<br />Janoueix family and thrives on the clayey soil of Carney Island. The 2019 grape varieties focus on Merlot (96%), complemented by Cabernet Franc (2.5%),<br />Malbec (1%) and Petit Verdot (0.5%). The vines are on average 38 years old. The planting density is about 3,600 to 6,000 vines per hectare.<br />The work in the vineyard is meticulous and includes tillage, grassing, thinning and some leaf thinning. After sorting at harvest, vinification takes place in<br />concrete and stainless steel tanks with openings and regular puncturing. Fermentation takes place under temperature control (maximum 26-27 °C). The<br />maturatThe story of Ampélia is about a meeting, a challenge and a conviction.<br />In 1996, three years before acquiring the lands of Ampélia, François Despagne inherited the<br />Grand Corbin-Despagne estate from his family, making it the seventh generation of his<br />family at the helm of this Saint-Emilion property.<br />François then eagerly sought a new challenge and created a new vineyard -this time, not in<br />Saint-Emilion, but in Castillon - Côtes de Bordeaux, the bordering appellation.ion period is between three weeks and one month. Maturation lasts between three<br />and four months on the fine lees in barrels (20%) and in vats with or without wood (80%).<br />The top Bordeaux produced by the estate are pleasant, fruity wines that tend to be drunk at a young age. Gourmet and fleshy wines that are also quite<br />accessible.<br />

This grape variety most likely originates from Germany and was introduced to South Tyrol around 1900; today it is mainly cultivated in the Eisack Valley. The Sylvaner<br />grape feels particularly at home in the not too high, airy and warm slopes of the central Valle Isarco. The Merlot NUSSLEITEN vines thrive in the Seehof vineyard, facing south with a view of Lake Kaltern, while the mountains at their back provide protection from the north.<br />There, purple shimmering berries of excellent quality unfold their ruby red potential. Powerful spice on the nose with pepper, wild berries, redcurrant, notes of coffee and<br />cocoa, and a hint of pine needles. Multi-faceted, full-bodied mouthfeel with alpine freshness, a strong presence and incomparable elegance. Its long and complex finish<br />exudes great finesse.<br /><br />Manual harvesting and selection of the grapes from the historic Nussleiten vineyard. After destemming, the stainless steel tanks are filled by gravity, followed by mash<br />fermentation under controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation and ageing exclusively in new barriques for 18 months. <br /><br />The AMOS cuvée shows the terroir potential of the high Kurtatsch sites. AMOS is composed of the best hand-picked white grapes from the coolest vineyards between 600<br />and 900 metres above sea level.<br /><br />It is precisely this interplay of varieties and sites that makes AMOS so unique in character and style. In order to preserve the mountain freshness, barriques were not used.<br />The long fine yeast storage in large wood provides additional complexity. The neutral Burgundy varieties form the compact foundation (70%) Kerner and Sauvignon give the<br />wine its seductive bouquet of white peach, apricot, blossom and citrus fruit. Lagrein, genetically related to Syrah, is the oldest autochthonous grape variety in South Tyrol. In the hot, deep vineyards in the south of South Tyrol, the heat-loving<br />Lagrein finds its suitable habitat.<br />The FRAUENHÜGEL has a seductive fruitiness of wild berries, elderberries, black cherries and cocoa beans. The wine is enriched with balsamic tannins during ageing in<br />barrique barrels. The noble roasted aromas and the vital acidity are harmoniously combined with the powerful fruit body. Description: Deep and concentrated fruit, aromas of blackcurrant, cocoa, cinnamon and vanilla as well as velvety tannins make up this full-bodied yet elegant cuvée.<br />Ageing potential: 10 - 15 years.<br />Recommended food: Meat dishes of all kinds, especially red meat and game dishes as well as mature cheese.<br />Serving temperature: 16° C.<br />Grape variety: 80% Merlot - 20% Cabernet. Older trellised vines (15 - 20 years), planting density 5,000 vines/ha.<br />Sites: vineyards at 250-430 m a.s.l., moraine rubble deposits and porphyry weathered soils, south-west facing.<br />Vinification: Must fermentation followed by maceration for 7-10 days, malolactic fermentation in barriques. In spring, first racking with assemblage of the two varieties and<br />further ageing for 14 months in small oak barrels. Gentle coarse filtration and filling.
