Stoan 2023 Cuvèe weiss...

Stoan 2023 Cuvèe weiss...

Stoan is a unique wine that reflects the richness and potential of our terroir. A lively blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Blanc and Gewürztraminer, the brainchild of
our winemaker.

Description of the vintage: After a dry winter and an initially cold March, above-average spring temperatures favoured early budding and early flowering. From mid-May to
early June the weather was mainly rainy and wet. In the later maturation phase, rainfall was normal, with few heat peaks and concomitant short dry periods. Throughout the
summer the nights were characterised by pleasant coolness. Harvesting began in early September and until mid-October was interrupted repeatedly by single days of rain,
fortunately alternating with prolonged periods of sunshine. The white wines are fresh, with an intense olfactory profile. The red wines, with great finesse and elegance,
indicate great ageing potential.
Grape variety: Chardonnay 65%, Sauvignon 20%, Pinot Blanc 10%, Gewürztraminer 5%.
Yield: 45 hl/ha
Altitude: from 400, more from 500 - 600 metres
Exposure: south-east 90%, south 10%.
Harvest: end of September - mid-October
Bottles produced: about 48,000, 760 magnums and some large sizes
Soil: calcareous gravel mixed with clay
Age of vines: 10 - 40 years
Climate: wide temperature range due to hot days influenced by the Mediterranean climate and cold nights with very fresh winds coming from the mountains

Vinification: the grapes are harvested entirely by hand and placed in small containers that keep them intact; immediate pressing; slow fermentation at a controlled
temperature (18°-20°) in wooden barrels (30-40 hl), in which malolactic fermentation also takes place; racking of the must by natural sedimentation.

AGING: Refining in large wooden barrels (30-40 hl), always in contact with the yeasts until the end of August. After bottling, the wine is left in the bottle for a minimum of 3
months for further ageing, bringing the total ageing period to a minimum of 14 months.
to a minimum of 14 months.

Alcohol content: 13,5 % vol.
Total acidity: 5,9 g/l
Residual sugars: 1.8 g/l
LOAM Cabernet-Merlot...

LOAM Cabernet-Merlot...

A rarity in the Alpine region are sites with a microclimate in which even red late varieties reach the stage of full ripeness. Loam Cabernet-Merlot owes its exceptional
character to the weather-protected location and the special nature and heat storage capacity of the soils of its vineyards.

Vintage description: the winter ended with abundant snow in the mountains. Warmer temperatures in March and April caused an early and rather uneven budding in the
well-supplied soils. A cool May then delayed the flowering. In humid and hot June, a high fungal disease pressure developed, which could be contained through sensitivity
and a lot of careful manual work. The rest of the summer was largely dry and was only interrupted by short, heavy thunderstorms. Two hot spells had practically no negative
effects. A significant drop in the lowest temperatures began in mid-August. High temperature differences between day and night characterised the weather throughout the
harvest. The harvest took place about 14 days later than in the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage show an impressive freshness, Gewürztraminer are
characterised by particular elegance. The red wines present a lot of fruit and a lively tannin structure.

Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), Cabernet Franc (25%), Merlot (35%).
Yield: 45 hl/hectare
Altitude: 250 - 350 m
Soil: Clay with calcareous content
Age of vines: 15 - 25 years
Exposure: south-east 90 %, south 10
Climate: extreme interplay between sunny days dominated by the Mediterranean climate and night hours dominated by cold downdrafts from the surrounding mountains

Serving temperature 16-18° C
Residual sugar 0.7 g/l
Total acidity 5,4 g/l
Alcohol 14 % vol
SONNTALER
South Tyrol Vernatsch DOC Old Vines
300-400 m a.s.l., east, steep and sloping site
Large day/night temperature differences
Red sandy-loamy soils with dolomite, porphyry and clay minerals
Alcohol: 12.5 % vol.
Total acidity: 4,8 g/l
Residual sugar: 1,9 g/l
Yield per hectare: 75 hl
Optimum age for drinking: 2-4 years
Method of cultivation: sustainable

Grape variety: Vernatsch
Vinification: Temperature-controlled fermentation of the must in steel tanks, malolactic fermentation and ageing in large oak barrels.
About the wine: Vernatsch SONNTALER is a blend of our oldest vineyards. The vines are between 60 and 90 years old. Old vines naturally produce low and therefore very
high quality yields. Traditionally, the SONNTALER is a blend of different Vernatsch varieties with a high percentage of Grauvernatsch. The ideal terroir and the traditional
ageing in large Slavonian wooden barrels give a wine with a complex aroma of raspberries, wild strawberries, cherries and red currants. The elegant, slender body is
gripping on the palate. Fine-grained tannins give the smooth, varietal fruitiness a long and hearty finish. SONNTALER: the classic.

Vernatsch is considered the lightest red wine variety in the world, which is why the drinking temperature is particularly important: we recommend 13°C!
