Opus One 2021 California...

Opus One 2021 California...

The winter of 2017 ended a five-year drought with January recording the most rainfall in over 20 years. The abundant rainfall continued into March, causing a modest
delay in budbreak, and pushing bloom back by two weeks. Increased soil moisture allowed for healthy vine growth and development. The summer, in turn, was warm and
punctuated by occasional heat waves. Despite Mother Nature's variability, favorable weather in August provided optimal conditions for fruit development and maturation.
Superb flavors and excellent ripening led to an earlier than expected harvest, which commenced on the 5th of September.

The Opus One 2017 offers a harmonious aromatic balance of rich dark fruit, stems of roses, and earthy forest floor. The juicy entry offers a round, silky mouthfeel with just
enough acidity to complement the satin texture. This seductive wine shows flavors of black cassis, black cherry and a hint of cocoa powder. The fine-grained, plush tannins
evolve into a long, supple finish. A supremely age-worthy wine, it will delight now and for many years to come.

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon 80%, Petit Verdot 9%, Cabernet Franc 5%, Merlot 5% and Malbec 1%

Skin Contact: 20 days

Barrel Aging: 17 months in new French oak
Chianti class. 2023...

Chianti class. 2023...

At Castellare, Chianti Classico is produced using only two indigenous grape varieties: Sangioveto, the prince of Tuscan vines, which makes up 90% of the blend, and the
remaining 10% of Canaiolo, another typical variety of the area. The true Chianti Classico, therefore, without the addition of international grape varieties such as Cabernet
or Merlot, in order to maintain the authentic formula of the most famous of Italian wines while at the same time seeking maximum elegance.

Tasting notes: the colour of this Chianti Classico is the ruby red of Sangioveto. The nose is fragrant, fresh with pleasant hints of red fruit, liquorice, currants and a light
touch of vanilla. The typical notes of Chianti Sangiovese dominate. On the palate it expresses a pleasant sweetness, is round, soft and savoury. Acidity and persistence
characterise a very elegant aftertaste.

Pairings: A very versatile wine that also goes well with structured and important dishes. It also goes well with stews and medium-aged cheeses.

Varieties: 90% Sangioveto 10% Canaiolo
CABERNET SAUVIGNON

This variety needs no introduction and has also found much space in Friuli. The low yields and strong stripping favour a more 'southern' maturation. The result is a wine with an intense colour, warm aromas and a rounded taste, where the tannin
expresses itself above all with elegance.

Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Denomination: IGT Venezia Giulia
Municipality of production: San Lorenzo - Corona - Romans (Gorizia)
Soil type: calcareous gravelly plateau (60/25 m asl)
Vineyard: Cultivated with organic fertilisation and integrated pest management (as per EU regulations) with no chemical weed control
Average age of vines: 15 years
Training system: Guyot 5.200 - 5.600 vines/ha
Production: 50 - 55 hl/ha
Harvesting: By hand with careful selection of the grapes
Alcohol content: 13%.
Serving temperature: 18 °C
Bottles produced: 110,000 (average)
Ageing potential 10 years
Grape varieties

Goldmuskateller (Golden Muscat)

Location & soil

Mareit Leiten, 350 m elevation, very steep, southfacing slope with extremely long exposure to the sun and warm gravelly soil with moraine deposits. Vogelleiten und
Panholzer with clay-limestone gravel soil.

Vintage

2023 was a challenging year with climatic conditions that were anything but easy. Through hard work and meticulous attention to detail, we ultimately achieved great results.
Our vines coped well with both the wet spring and the hot and dry summer, and the golden autumn helped us achieve perfect ripeness. Physiolog-ical ripeness, sugar
ripeness and acidity are in perfect balance. Ripe fruit, cool character and moderate alcohol characterise the vintage.
The Golden Muscat grapes were left on the vines until the end of September for perfect maturity. The berries were a golden yellow, the aroma highly intense. At 55 hl per
hectare, the yield was low.

Winemaking

Grapes were de-stemmed and left to macerate in the press for twelve hours to enrich the juice with aroma substances and body leached from the skins. Fermentation took
place in oak and stainless steel tanks, partially with yeasts naturally occurring in the vineyard. The young wine was subsequently matured on the fine lees for five months to
enable the aromas and flavour to evolve

Data

Residual sugar: 0.6 g/l
Alcohol: 12.5 % Vol.
Acidity: malolactic fermentation: 5.2 g/l

Description & drinking recommendation

Intense golden yellow in colour, this seductive wine displays a ravishing floral perfume together with nutmeg, cedar, apricot and grapey fruit supported by a streak of racy,
vibrant acidity.
Enjoy at optimum maturity from early summer in 2024 to the end of 2027.
Serve: lightly chilled, 46 - 50 °F
Delicious as an aperitif it makes a wonderful partner to spicy Chinese and Thai foods or mature hard cheeses.

Our claim

Biodynamic
Respekt-BIODYN
Vegan
Lugana 2023 CA'DEI FRATI 375ml

I Frati
Lugana Doc

The wine that has made the company's image known and continues to do so. It has a direct link with its variety, Turbiana, our indigenous vine. Conceived to be consumed
during the year, it expresses its best side many years after bottling. In its youth it is fresh, linear and endowed with great finesse and elegance with delicate notes of white
flowers and balsamic, hints of apricot and almond. Time allows it to evolve, expressing its mineral notes with greater determination. The wine acquires its own complexity
with hints of iodine, spices and candied fruit. In the mouth it is capable of enveloping the whole palate thanks to an important savoury essence accompanied by lively and
exuberant acidity. When young, it is best served at a temperature of around 10 degrees, with cold or warm but delicate hors d'oeuvres and with boiled, steamed or grilled
fish dishes.
Technical data

Grape varieties used: Turbiana 100%.
Soil composition: calcareous - clayey
Training system: Simple and double Guyot
Planting system: 2.30 x 0.70
Yield per hectare: 90 quintals
Type of vinification: steel
Malolactic: Not carried out
Ageing and development: in steel on fine lees for a minimum of 6 months, followed by 2 months in bottle
Alcohol content: 13%.
Total acidity: 6.40 g/L
Volatile acidity: 0.30 g/L
pH: 3.20
Dry extract: 21 g/L
