First born among the wines that make up the MOMA line dedicated to the world of art, the label bears the work Golden Glass by Milanese artist Beatrice Pani, first prize-<br />winner at the third edition of the Umberto Cesari Art Contest.<br /><br />Blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grown on medium-textured clay soils. The vineyards have an average age of 15 years and a yield of 80 quintals of<br />grapes per hectare. Fermented in vertical steel vats at controlled temperature for 12-14 days. Matured for 6 months in 30 HL Slavonian oak casks and a further 3 months in<br />bottle.<br /><br />Colour: light red with violet reflections.<br />Bouquet: intense plum, violet and red fruits.<br />Taste: pleasantly velvety on the palate, with the fruity hints typical of Sangiovese, the softness of Merlot and the 'balsamicity' of Cabernet Sauvignon. Description<br /><br />Very deep violet/black colour. Highly dense bouquet, chassis, blackberries. Very powerful yet elegant attack, densely concentrated tannins on the palate, powerful<br />backbone and enormously long finish.<br /><br />High ageing potential: 10-15 years.<br /><br />Recommended food: Goes well with strong dishes with red meat, grilled or roasted, but especially with game and with spicy cheeses.<br />Serving temperature: 16° C.<br />Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon.<br />Sites: The vineyard site is located at an altitude of 430 m above sea level with optimal sun exposure. A rather dry site, with sandy, gravelly moraine soil.<br />Vinification: Maceration for 10 days with gentle circulation of the marc followed by maceration for a further 10-14 days. Racking of the young wine into new/used barriques,<br />malolactic fermentation, several transfers of the wine during the 18 months of ageing. It needs attention, time to mature and likes to play the leading role: as the crowning glory of a festive table or even as a proud solitaire.<br /><br />Grape variety:<br />Pinot Noir<br />Site and soil: Mazzon, called 'Mason' by us to avoid confusion with the larger site above Neumarkt. Four hectares are planted with Pinot Nero in this unique site: a south-<br />facing high plateau at 400 - 450 m above sea level, sunny and constantly exposed to the wind. Ideal conditions for the tightly berried Pinot grapes. The soil is sandy loam<br />and interspersed with various stones: Dolomite, porphyry, gneiss and granite can be found from small grains to fist-sized stones. The highest parcel is planted with the<br />oldest vines, from which we select this 'Grand Cru from the Grand Cru' in top vintages.<br /><br />Data:<br />Residual sugar: 0.9 g/l<br />Alcohol: 13,5 % Vol.<br />Acidity: biological acid reduction 6.0 g/L<br />
