Giovanni<br />Neri creates another great scenario that once again combines the importance of tradition with our continuous quest for innovation.<br /><br /><br />NOTES OF GIOVANNI NERI<br /><br />It presents itself to the eye with a bright, brilliant red colour. Cherry aromas emerge on the nose. White flowers and blood orange emerge with a little airiness. The palate is<br />well balanced, creamy and releases the purity of red fruits. The finish is savoury and of great purity. The greatness of the 2019 vintage can be glimpsed but will be best<br />expressed after a few years of bottle ageing.<br /><br />VINTAGE NOTES<br />The winter was characterised by mild temperatures with average rainfall compared to previous years. A stable and sunny March and April were followed by an unusual May<br />with very low temperatures and abundant rainfall. All these factors contributed to delaying flowering and fruit set by a few days. June and July were warm and dry with high<br />peaks that allowed the initial vegetative delay to be recovered. Sauvignon 2022 La Foa...

Description: very intense fruity notes reminiscent of elder, acacia flowers and sage; combined with fine wood aromas; a wine with pithy acidity and a persistent finish.<br />Ageing potential: 6-10 years.<br />Recommended food: Ideal accompaniment to herb and fish dishes. Spicy white meat dishes and fresh cheese.<br />Serving temperature: 12 - 14° C.<br />Grape variety: Sauvignon blanc.<br />Sites: The vineyards are located on a rather dry site with optimal sun exposure and a sandy, gravelly moraine soil.<br />Vinification: After a short maceration period, the fully ripe grapes are gently pressed. Half of the must ferments in stainless steel vats while the remaining part is matured in<br />wooden barrels/barriques. Only this second part undergoes partial malolactic fermentation. A rarity in the Alpine region are sites with a microclimate in which even red late varieties reach the stage of full ripeness. Loam Cabernet-Merlot owes its exceptional<br />character to the weather-protected location and the special nature and heat storage capacity of the soils of its vineyards.<br /><br />Vintage description: the winter ended with abundant snow in the mountains. Warmer temperatures in March and April caused an early and rather uneven budding in the well-<br />supplied soils. A cool May then delayed the flowering. In humid and hot June, a high fungal disease pressure developed, which could be contained through sensitivity and a<br />lot of careful manual work. The rest of the summer was largely dry and was only interrupted by short, heavy thunderstorms. Two hot spells had practically no negative<br />effects. A significant drop in the lowest temperatures began in mid-August. High temperature differences between day and night characterised the weather throughout the<br />harvest. The harvest took place about 14 days later than in the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage show an impressive freshness, Gewürztraminer are<br />characterised by particular elegance.
