Chardonnay DOC Caliz 2024...

Chardonnay DOC Caliz 2024...

The name 'Caliz' is derived from the Latin terms Calix (calyx) and Calx (limestone). The Chardonnay Caliz grows exclusively on light gravel soils with a high dolomite-lime
content.

The yield has been reduced to 70 hl per hectare of vineyard. The delicate bouquet is reminiscent of ripe pineapple, baby bananas and lime peel. The characteristic
Mediterranean fruitiness is complemented by a taut acidity structure from selected Chardonnay lots from higher altitude vineyards. The wine gains in complexity and
consistency through longer ageing on the fine lees in large wooden barrels. The large day/night temperature differences give the wine additional spice, and the finish of the
Caliz is salty and long.

Grape variety: Chardonnay
Production zone: 250-500 m a.s.l., south-east, clay-sand and gravel soils, rich in dolomite
Vinification: Temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel followed by ageing on the fine lees in large oak barrels.
Alcohol: 13 % vol.
Total acidity: 6,0 g/l
Residual sugar: 2,5 g/l
Yield per hectare: 70 hl
Optimum drinking maturity: 1-4 years
Method of cultivation: sustainable
Bottle size: 0,75 l
