In contrast to the German models,<br />the wines here in South Tyrol are usually vinified without residual sweetness.<br /><br />Grape variety: Riesling<br />Growing region/climate: Slopes around Bolzano and the Valle Isarco, 500 m above sea level.<br />Harvest: Beginning to middle of October<br />Vinification: Carefully selected grapes are gently pressed and fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The bouquet is reminiscent of<br />nettle, apples, green peppers and tropical fruits.<br />With a harmonious balance of acidity and minerality, notes of elderberry, banana and vanilla enrich the lively character of this wine.<br />Thanks to its excellent quality, this wine has been included in the Bernardi collection. This is a selection of choice grapes from optimal vineyards.<br />

<br /><br />The name 'Caliz' is derived from the Latin terms Calix (calyx) and Calx (limestone). The Chardonnay Caliz grows exclusively on light gravel soils with a high dolomite-lime<br />content.<br /><br />The yield has been reduced to 70 hl per hectare of vineyard. The delicate bouquet is reminiscent of ripe pineapple, baby bananas and lime peel. The characteristic<br />Mediterranean fruitiness is complemented by a taut acidity structure from selected Chardonnay lots from higher altitude vineyards. The wine gains in complexity and<br />consistency through longer ageing on the fine lees in large wooden barrels. <br />TYPOLOGY: Port<br />PRODUCTION AREA: Douro<br />RAW MATERIAL: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz and others.<br />VINIFICATION: The grapes used to produce the LBV Port come from the vineyards of Cima Corgo, an area located above the Corgo River in the Douro region. The<br />grapes are pressed in the traditional tanks called lagares, followed by maturation of the Port in large old oak vats in the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.<br />COLOUR: intense ruby<br />BOUQUET: Intense aroma of wild fruits, spices, notes of dark chocolate, with a slight floral profile, making it a refined and very expressive Port wine<br />PAIRINGS: perfect with desserts in which chocolate predominates, especially dark chocolate. Its rarity lies in the unique combination of grapes<br />from the classic terroir of Las Compuertas, in Luján de Cuyo, with the more recently discovered terroirs in the Valle de Uco: Gualtallary, Los Chacayes, Paraje Altamira<br />and Eugenio Bustos, all between 1,070 and 1,200 metres above sea level. The vines are between 20 and 90 years old.<br /><br />TASTING NOTES<br />A complex and layered expression, revealing aromas of red and black fruits, subtle hints of violets and delicate toasted notes.
