A wine which tastes of Manincor; truly unique. The essence of the hills around the wine estate and the lake, full of vigour and warmth.<br /><br />Grape varieties<br />Lagrein 48 %, Merlot 35 %, Cabernet 17 %<br /><br />Location & soil<br />The Manincor estate and the Panholzerhof, both sites are south-east facing overlooking the Lake of Kaltern at an altitude of 250 m above sea level; soils are rich<br />comprising sand and clay mixed with limestone gravel and other morainal deposits. These vineyards are among the warmest in all South Tyrol, pre-destined for the<br />production of great red wines.<br /><br />Expansion<br />Grapes from each parcel of vineyard were crushed separately and fermented in a mixture of oak and cement vats and stainless steel tanks using yeasts occurring naturally<br />in the vineyard. Skin contact lasted ten days and was rigorously controlled, during which time the cap of skins was pushed down into the fermenting liquid daily as it rose to<br />the surface in order to extract velvety, assertive but ripe tannins. Fresh fruit and elegance are the main qualities we strive for in this wine. The young wine was transferred<br />into oak barrels of varying sizes where it matured for twelve months.<br /><br />Description & drinking recommendation<br />Concentrated bright ruby. A rich, seductive berry fruit and spice nose leads to a remarkably succulent, well-structured palate of white and black pepper, dark chocolate,<br />liquorice and damson with silky-textured tannins. <br />VARIETY:<br />CHARDONNAY<br />VINEYARDS:<br />From our Family's own vineyards at Cascina Il Bricco in Treiso, in the Barbaresco area, and at Colombaro in Serralunga d'Alba in the Barolo area, which from the 2019<br />harvest will be replaced by Vigna Mosconi, in Monforte d'Alba, also in the Barolo area. Since 1985 it has represented our family's desire to produce a white wine with body,<br />complexity and longevity like the great red wines of our terroirs.<br />VINIFICATION AND AGING:<br />The Chardonnay is harvested in boxes, gently pressed and briefly decanted cold. It ferments and stays for 10 months on the lees in barriques made of only 1/3 new wood.<br />It then stays in the bottle.<br />NOTES:<br />Spicy, creamy, intense, persistent, ripe, still fresh, non-invasive wood. Long-lived. Produced in small quantities each year.<br />

VARIETY:<br />NEBBIOLO 100%<br />VINEYARDS:<br />Our Barolo is the result of a careful selection of Nebbiolo grapes from vineyards owned by our family, located in different positions within the Barolo area: in Serralunga<br />d'Alba (Cascina Ornato, La Serra and Briccolina), in Grinzane Cavour (Gustava and Garretti), in La Morra (Roncaglie), in Novello (Ravera) and, since the 2015 harvest, in<br />Monforte d'Alba (Mosconi).<br />VINIFICATION:<br />In steel. Maceration on the skins for about 30 days at fairly high temperatures.<br />AGING:<br />In French and Slavonian oak barrels for about 30 months and a small part in barriques.<br />NOTES:<br />A very classic style Barolo: elegance and finesse, ripe and spicy fruit, important but not overpowering tannins, good structure and concentration. Very long-lived. Ours is<br />not a basic Barolo, but has always been, and as tradition has it, the most faithful expression of the various great terroirs of the Barolo zone.<br />
