Gewürztraminer 2009 Vigna...

Gewürztraminer 2009 Vigna...

Vigna
KOLBENHOF
Gewürztraminer

The Kolbenhof Gewürztraminer shows an intense golden yellow colour with delicate greenish reflections in the glass. Aromas of ripe yellow fruits, especially peaches and
apricots, mingle with exotic scents of lychee, mango and passion fruit. On the palate, these fruity impressions continue, while the wine still has a fine acidity that never
makes it seem too lush despite its concentration. A Gewürztraminer that can convince with aromatic length. This Gewürztraminer is a selection from the best vineyards of
our estate Kolbenhof in Söll / Tramin. Thanks to the special microclimate, the ideal orientation and the age of its vines, the Kolbenhof estate is one of the great cru sites for
South Tyrolean Gewürztraminer. Only the classification 'Vigna' guarantees the origin of a site wine in South Tyrol.
HOFSTITY CLASSIFICATION: Site wine
GRAPE VARIETY: Gewürztraminer
SOIL: Loam and limestone gravel
VINIFICATIONAND RIPENESS: after delivery, the grapes are lightly crushed and the must is left in contact with the skins for a few hours to bring out the fruitiness of the
wine. After a gentle pressing and natural sedimentation of the lees, the must ferments at a controlled temperature. After fermentation, the Kolbenhof Gewürztraminer
matures for another 8 months on the fine lees. The fine yeast is stirred weekly (battonage).
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 8° -10° C
RECOMMENDATION FOR COOKING: delicious on its own, it can also be combined with crustaceans, more sophisticated fish preparations and Asian dishes.
Lagrein Steinrafflerhof...

Lagrein Steinrafflerhof...

STEINRAFFLER
VIGNA LAGREIN

A wanderer between worlds. On the one hand dense and concentrated and almost rustic in a pleasant way, it nevertheless reveals a certain elegance. The colour is deep
dark and garnet red with an almost black core. The bouquet reveals a mixture of earthy-mineral and spicy notes. The initially delicate fruit develops increasingly in the glass
and is reminiscent of dark, ripe plums. On the palate, the spice components continue, with the finish gaining in complexity due to the mineral notes that emerge once again.

This grape variety, unique to South Tyrol, finds very good growing conditions in the vineyards of our Steinraffler winery. Here, in 1990, we planted the short-stemmed Lagrein,
a variety that had almost fallen into oblivion in South Tyrol, grafted it onto weak-growing rootstocks and grew it on wire frames. The rebirth of this old, autochthonous red wine
variety represents for us a happy combination of tradition and innovation.

In South Tyrol, only the 'Vigna' classification guarantees the origin of a site wine.

Grape variety: Lagrein
Soil: Loam and sandy soils
Vinification: After delivery, the destemmed grapes enter the fermentation tank. After a short maceration, the mash is fermented for about 10 days.
Maturation: It matures for 15 months in small oak barrels, another 7 months after the assemblage in large oak barrels and at least 12 months in the bottle.
Food recommendation: Red meats, game, mild cheeses.
Chardonnay Riserva DOC 2019...

Chardonnay Riserva DOC 2019...

Complex Chardonnays from high altitudes are a rarity, but that is precisely where the appeal lies for us. Troy means 'path' in the language of our ancestors. The name
illustrates our long journey of research and experimentation with this noble grape variety.

The winter ended with abundant snow in the mountains. Warmer temperatures in March and April caused premature and rather uneven budding in the well-supplied soils. A
cool May then delayed the flowering. In humid and hot June, a high fungal disease pressure developed, which could be contained through sensitivity and a lot of careful
manual work. The rest of the summer was largely dry and was only interrupted by short, heavy thunderstorms. Two hot spells had practically no negative effects. A
significant drop in the lowest temperatures began in mid-August. High temperature differences between day and night characterised the weather throughout the harvest. The
harvest took place about 14 days later than in the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage show an impressive freshness, Gewürztraminer are characterised by
particular elegance. The red wines present a lot of fruit and a lively tannin structure.

Grape variety: Chardonnay
Yield: 38 hl/hectare
Altitude: 500 - 550 m
Soil: calcareous gravel and clay soil
Age of vines: around 25 years, stocking on Guyot and simple, open pergola
Exposure: south-east
Climate: extreme interplay between sunny days influenced by the Mediterranean climate and night hours influenced by cold downdrafts from the surrounding mountains
Harvest: Beginning of October
Alcohol: 14,0 % vol
Total acidity: 6.1 g/l
Residual sugar: <2 g/l
