Rosso'15 Di Montalcino...

Rosso'15 Di Montalcino...
ROSSO DI MONTALCINO DOC
2015

This wine was originally known as 'Brunello Etichetta Bianca' and was renamed Rosso di Montalcino in 1983 when the DOC was established.
True to the style that characterises all Biondi-Santi wines, Rosso is distinguished by its fragrant and fruity soul, which makes it perfect to be enjoyed even at a young age.
THE 2015 VINTAGE
A majestic vintage where structure, elegance and freshness combine to create something special. 2015 was a warm, low rainfall year with high temperatures from May to
August, which allowed the vines to ripen very well, giving us perfect grapes for very classy wines. We started the harvest on 21 September.
THE ORIGIN
The 2015 Rosso di Montalcino was produced with the Sangiovese Grosso clone BBS11 (Brunello Biondi Santi 11), identified and selected by Biondi-Santi at Tenuta Greppo
in the 1970s. For this Rosso, grapes were used exclusively from the youngest vineyards, aged between 4 and 10 years.
AGING
The 2015 Rosso di Montalcino was aged 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
THE EMOTION
The 2015 vintage gave great satisfaction. Even in Rosso di Montalcino one can feel the makings of an outstanding vintage that stands out for its structure and very refined
and intensely fruity bouquet. Brilliant ruby red in colour, it offers a broad and intense bouquet with notes of violets and wisteria flowers, fresh cherries and light hints of cedar
that find depth in the spiciness of pink and white pepper and sweet notes of vanilla bean. In the mouth it is soft and well-structured, with a fruity core, very elegant and fine.
The potential of the vintage is evident in the really important tannic texture that finds balance with the fresh acidity, typical of Tenuta Greppo wines. The finish is long and
savoury. A ready-made wine, while maintaining a good capacity for bottle ageing.
ALCOHOL
13,5%
Masseto 2019 IGT Toscana 750ml

Masseto 2019 IGT Toscana 750ml

2016
As is often the case in recent years, the winter of 2016 was characterised by unusually warm weather with heavy rainfall in February. Budding arrived on time in the last
week of March. The abundance of water in the soil and the warm weather in April favoured rapid and normal vegetative growth of the vines. In May, temperatures returned to
normal, slowing growth slightly and leading to flowering in the last week of May in dry, sunny weather, perfect for good fruit set. Summer temperatures were normal with very
little rain causing considerable water stress towards the end of the ripening phase. The usual mid-August storms were also absent, prolonging the water stress throughout
the early part of the harvest. Fortunately, the remarkably cool temperatures during the night allowed the vines to recover from the heat of the day. Maturation proceeded
smoothly with excellent phenolic potential and a balanced sugar/acid ratio. The harvest began on 24 August with the youngest vines. In September, the few rainfalls provided
the soil with sufficient water to complete the harvest in practically perfect conditions. The older vines of the 'Masseto centrale' benefited from this situation, continuing their
ripening until the third week of September. The last plots were harvested on 20 September.
TASTING NOTES: 2016 was a textbook year for Masseto, with a typically Tuscan coastal climate that saw a dry and sunny growing season, with plenty of sunshine and
just the right amount of rain for perfect ripeness. The 2016 has a particularly intense young colour, and on the nose the intense aroma of ripe dark fruit blends with subtle
notes of cocoa and spices. On the palate, the rich, dense structure of ripe, silky tannins is balanced by a sensual, vibrant fruit note and lively acidity that keeps the long
finish clean and full-bodied.
Ronchedone 2020 Ca dei...
Ronchedone Red Wine

In the area where the first morainic hills rise, red wines of considerable thickness and power are also obtained and Ronchedone is the absolute demonstration of this.
Strongly desired from the moment it was felt that certain areas and certain microclimates were suitable for obtaining a wine like this. Pomino Benefizio Riserva...

Pomino Benefizio Riserva...

Pomino Bianco Riserva DOC

'On the road to Pomino I am thrilled every time I discover this unique corner of Tuscany: hills and cypresses suddenly give way to steep slopes, cooler temperatures in
summer and snow in winter, magnificent forests of firs and centuries-old sequoias surrounding the vineyards of Chardonnay, planted here since 1855. At an altitude of 700
metres, the Cru Benefizio, the first white wine in Italy fermented and aged in barriques, was born in 1973.'

Climatic trend
The 2021 season will be remembered as a dynamic vintage. After a rainy and mild winter, which had led to a slight advance in budding, temperatures dropped sharply at the
beginning of April, slightly slowing the growth of the buds. From May onwards, temperatures began to rise again, leading to a summer that will be remembered for both the
beautiful day-night temperature range and the long period of intense heat. The grapes presented themselves at harvest in a perfect state of health, thanks to the mild
temperatures and low humidity.

Vinification and ripening
The Benefizio vineyard is located at an altitude of 700 m above sea level, with a southern exposure and predominantly sandy soil. The Chardonnay grapes were harvested in
boxes by hand with extreme care and attention. Once they arrived in the cellar, the pressing they underwent was extremely soft and gentle, allowing a good extraction of
clear must, which was further clarified after cold decantation. The musts thus obtained were placed in barriques, 50% new and 50% first-passage, where they underwent
alcoholic fermentation and only partially malolactic fermentation. Subsequently, the wine matured in wood, on the lees, with bâtonnage carried out as required. After further
bottle ageing, Benefizio Riserva reached its maximum taste-olfactory expression in terms of elegance and harmony.

Tasting notes
Elegance, expressiveness and body. Benefizio 2021 presents a wonderful straw yellow colour with golden highlights. The bouquet is varied, presenting hints of white fruit
such as pear, exotic fruit notes such as mango, banana and pineapple and more citrus notes of candied citron. The citrus sensation is also picked up by hints of orange
blossom. On the palate it is savoury and mineral, with an elegant and harmonious finish; the aromatic intensity perceived on the palate is amplified by the alcohol content
and the aftertaste of dried fruit. Persistent and long finish.
