Magnum Chardonnay Riserva...

Complex Chardonnays from high altitudes are a rarity, but that is precisely where the appeal lies for us. Troy means 'path' in the language of our ancestors. The name<br />illustrates our long journey of research and experimentation with this noble grape variety.<br /><br />The winter ended with abundant snow in the mountains. Warmer temperatures in March and April caused premature and rather uneven budding in the well-supplied soils. A<br />cool May then delayed the flowering. In humid and hot June, a high fungal disease pressure developed, which could be contained through sensitivity and a lot of careful<br />manual work. The rest of the summer was largely dry and was only interrupted by short, heavy thunderstorms. Two hot spells had practically no negative effects. A<br />significant drop in the lowest temperatures began in mid-August. High temperature differences between day and night characterised the weather throughout the harvest. The<br />harvest took place about 14 days later than in the previous year. The white wines of the 2019 vintage show an impressive freshness, Gewürztraminer are characterised by<br />particular elegance. At Castellare, Chianti Classico is produced using only two indigenous grape varieties: Sangioveto, the prince of Tuscan vines, which makes up 90% of the blend, and the<br />remaining 10% of Canaiolo, another typical variety of the area. The true Chianti Classico, therefore, without the addition of international vines such as Cabernet or Merlot, in<br />order to maintain the authentic formula of the most famous of Italian wines while seeking maximum elegance.<br /><br />Tasting notes: the colour of this Chianti Classico is the ruby red of Sangioveto. THE PINE OF BISERNO<br />2020<br />TUSCAN IGT RED<br />It is the purest and most direct expression of Bibbona's unique terroir. The special flavour of the grape makes Pino di Biserno a classic with an intriguing aroma,<br />distinguished by its excellent balance and timeless elegance. It shares an identity with its alter-ego, the Biserno.<br />INDICATIVE PERCENTAGE: Cabernet Franc 23%, Merlot 38%, Cabernet Sauvignon 22%, Petit Verdot 17%.<br />SOIL TYPE: Partly clayey, partly Bolgheri conglomerate.<br />GROWTH: The planting system is spurred cordon with a density of 6,500 vines/ha.<br />CLIMATE CONDITIONS: a moderate vintage with more consistent rainfall in the spring months that made temperatures a little cooler than average. Then the heat arrived in<br />early June bringing with it flowering, albeit with a slight delay. The summer recorded average temperatures with a good temperature difference between day and night. It can<br />be considered a good year.<br />HARVEST: Harvest began in the second week of September with the Merlot harvest, then continued with the Cabernet Franc and ended with the Cabernet Sauvignon and<br />Petit Verdot harvest in the first week of October.<br />VINIFICATION: The grapes were carefully selected on the vibrating belt in the cellar. Destemming and soft crushing; alcoholic fermentation in truncated conical steel tanks<br />for 3-4 weeks at 28°, malolactic fermentation in barriques for 25% of the mass, the remainder in steel.<br />AGING: The wine matures partly for 12 months in new and second-passage French oak barriques, the remaining 10% of the volume remains in steel.<br />TASTING NOTES: Ruby red in colour with purple reflections, on the nose it releases a complexity of aromas ranging from ripe red fruits to Mediterranean scrub and delicate<br />notes of tobacco and spices. On the palate it is soft, silky and tasty, calibrated in its dense and elegant tannic texture, long in the finish.<br />ALCOHOL: 14.5%<br />TOTAL ACIDITY: 5.0 G/L<br />PH: 3.67<br />

The bodega Tinto Pesquera is located in Pesquera de Duero, a village about 200 km north of Madrid, in the Ribera del Duero. This region is about 115 km long and takes its<br />name from the word ribera, which means cultivated fields near a watercourse. The soil is of alluvial origin characterised by the presence of clay, sand and infiltrations of<br />limestone and debris, while the climate is continental. In a cellar dating back to the 16th century, Alejandro Fernández created Tinto Pesquera in the 1970s: the name of his<br />winery, in a short time, embodied the renaissance of Spanish wine and especially Tempranillo. Tinto Pesquera is the result of Alejandro Fernández's close bond with his<br />land, Pesquera de Duero, so much so that his wine label features the town's symbols: its name, its tower and its arch. After alcoholic fermentation, the Tinto Pesquera<br />wines are not clarified and mature in French and American barriques for 18 months for the Tinto Pesquera and 24 months for the Reserva. In truly special vintages, the Tinto<br />Pesquera Janus Gran Reserva is produced, a single vineyard Tempranillo that is the epitome of elegance of this variety.<br /><br />Varietal: Tempranillo.<br /><br />Vineyards: The vineyards used to produce the Tinto Pesquera are located in Roa and La Horra (approximately 800 metres above sea level) in Ribiera del Duero. The soils are<br />heterogeneous, predominantly clay marl with the presence of limestone.<br /><br />Vinification: the wine ages 14 months in American oak barrels, then 6 months in the bottle before release.<br /><br />Characteristics: characterised by its brilliant colour, garnet hue, attractive and elegant. On the nose it has notes of red berries blending with balsamic hints. In the mouth it<br />is sweet, combining fruity hints with balsamic notes and liquorice.<br />
