The demanding Gewürztraminer prefers warm, airy sites with deep, loamy soils. These conditions are found in the Brenntal vineyard in the north-west of the village of<br />Kurtatsch.<br /><br />The Gewürztraminer gets its multifaceted aromas from the red clay soils: lychee, roses, mango, caramelised orange peel and lavender. On the palate, the wine presents a<br />creamy texture and elegant acidity that balances the muscular body. The wine reaches its complexity after a longer ageing period in the cellar and in the bottle, which is<br />why the wine is only sold as a Riserva 2 years after the harvest. Description: Intense straw yellow colour, fresh fine aroma reminiscent of yellow roses and nutmeg, some cloves and cinnamon, strong body, spicy, with lively acidity.<br />Ageing potential: 6-8 years.<br />Recommended food: As an aperitif, ideal companion to grilled fish, shellfish, Asian dishes and blue cheese.<br />Serving temperature: 10-12° C.<br />Grape variety: Gewürztraminer, trellis training with high plant density, approx. 5,500 vines/ha.<br />Sites: Selected sites at 450-550 m above sea level. Gravelly, sandy, partly loamy, medium-heavy soils with limestone deposits.<br />Vinification: Short cold maceration of the destemmed grapes, gentle pressing, fermentation at 18° C in stainless steel tanks. Description<br /><br />Very deep violet/black colour. Highly dense bouquet, chassis, blackberries. Very powerful yet elegant attack, densely concentrated tannins on the palate, powerful<br />backbone and enormously long finish.<br /><br />High ageing potential: 10-15 years.<br /><br />Recommended food: Goes well with strong dishes with red meat, grilled or roasted, but especially with game and with spicy cheeses.<br />Serving temperature: 16° C.<br />Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon.<br />Sites: The vineyard site is located at an altitude of 430 m above sea level with optimal sun exposure. A rather dry site, with sandy, gravelly moraine soil.<br />Vinification: Maceration for 10 days with gentle circulation of the marc followed by maceration for a further 10-14 days. Racking of the young wine into new/used barriques,<br />malolactic fermentation, several transfers of the wine during the 18 months of ageing.
