The name 'FREIENFELD' comes from the Renaissance estate of the same name in which the winery was founded in 1900. Already at that time, the sun-exposed slopes of
Kurtatsch on permeable dolomite-limestone soil showed their potential for Cabernet.

Vinification: Temperature-controlled fermentation in red tanks and ageing in French barriques for 15 months. Barriques for 15 months, further 9 months in large oak barrels
and at least 1 year in the bottle.
