Rubesco Riserva Vigna...

Rubesco Riserva Vigna Monticchio
Torgiano Rosso Riserva DOCG

An elegant wine with solid structure, deep ruby colour and complex aroma that recalls marasca cherries and blackberries, followed by notes of violet, light mentholated hints and a spicy finish. Thanks to its complexity, it is suited for an average aging of 30-35 years
Food pairings

dishes of refined international cuisine, fillet with pepper and Japanese mustard, squab with black truffles, roast beef with wasabi, Peking duck, guinea hen alla ghiotta, aged cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C (61-64°F) in large stemglass.
Sizes

A DOCG wine since 1990 with retroactive recognition back to the 1983 vintage. Considered one of Italy's best red wines, it is a profound expression of Umbria, of its hillsides and its people, with a perfect harmony between power and elegance. EPOKALE Südt....

Epokale was the first Italian white wine to be awarded 100 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. This wine contradicts the classic idea of a South Tyrolean
Gewürztraminer, redefines boundaries and impressively shows what this great variety is capable of.
Mild temperatures in spring brought about an early start of vegetation. The summer months were decidedly sunny and dry. Cool nights ensured that the physiological
ripeness could nevertheless develop in a balanced way. Thanks to a cool September, the ripening process was delayed so that an excellent harvest with optimally ripened
grapes took place. The elegant white wines show a pronounced juiciness, variety of aromas and depth, the intense reds offer plenty of fruit and character.

Grape variety: Gewürztraminer
Yield: 29 hl/hectare
Altitude: 420 - 440 m
Exposure: south-east
Harvest: End of October
Soil: calcareous gravel with clay soil, subsoil rocks of porphyry
Age of the vines: oldest Guyot stock, from over 20 years to almost 30 years old
Climate: extreme interplay between sunny days dominated by the Mediterranean climate and night hours dominated by cold downdrafts from the surrounding mountains
Lagrein Ris. Elena Walch...

VINTAGE 2021
We are excited about a qualitatively excellent vintage, especially for our white wines! A dry and cool spring led to a late flowering of the vines and was followed by a warm
and dry June. After an irregular midsummer, a surprising change in the weather followed in mid- ugust, which brought dream weather until the end of September and the very
best conditions for achieving an optimal maturity of the grapes. The harvest began in mid- September, about 10 days later than last year. With blue skies and lots of
sunshine, midsummer daytime temperatures and autumnally cool nights, the grapes were able to achieve ideal sugar levels while maintaining very good acidity. Accordingly,
the 2021 wines show great quality!

VINIFICATION
Must fermentation for approximately 10 days, followed by malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Maturation for 20 months in French oak barriques. The wine is
then being bottle aged for several months before being released. Since 2015, a state-of-the-art fermentation cellar has allowed the grapes to be processed with the utmost
care, with whole-grape processing using via gravity fed technology. A highly sensitive destemmer and the gentle transport of the grapes by means of a specialized container,
cuvon, which runs on rails, prove to be very gentle on the grapes and preserve their high quality. The state-of-the-art building is certainly unique in Alto Adige, and is
probably one of the most modern fermentation cellars in Italy to produce great red wines of excellence

Variety: 100% Lagrein
Alcohol: 14,0% Vol
