Four hectares are planted with Pinot Nero in this unique site: a south-<br />facing high plateau at 400 - 450 m above sea level, sunny and constantly exposed to the wind. Ideal conditions for the tightly berried Pinot grapes. The soil is sandy loam<br />and interspersed with various stones: Dolomite, porphyry, gneiss and granite can be found from small grains to fist-sized stones. Ronchedone<br />Red wine<br /><br />In the area where the first moraine hills rise, red wines of considerable depth and power are also obtained, and Ronchedone is an absolute demonstration of this. Strongly<br />desired from the moment it was felt that certain areas and certain microclimates were suitable for making a wine like this. Marzemino, Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet make<br />it a wine that cannot go unnoticed. The nose is very rich with notes of red fruits, macerated blueberries, marasca cherries under spirits, balsamic and jammy hints. The<br />palate is powerful and incisive, clean, savoury, with a fine acidity that is a sign of the Benaco soil. Based in Nogaro, in<br />the heart of Bas Armagnac, it distils only wines from this area, reputed for the refinement of its crus.<br /><br />CHARACTERISTICS<br />Between Gers and Landes, the continuous still is used at 58% vol. and the 'Charantais' system, recognised by the 1972 decree as being of superior quality thanks to the<br />elimination of impurities and the consequent obtainment of a more refined and elegant spirit.The minimum ageing period of 7-8 years takes place in new (30%) Guasconian<br />oak casks of 400 litres. SOIL: sandy-loamy. GRAPES: Ugni Blanc, Baco and Folle Blanche.<br />TASTING NOTES<br />The intense amber colour anticipates clean hints of coffee and dried flowers. The palate has good texture, body and length with candied fruit aftertaste.<br />
