Gewürztraminer...

Gewürztraminer...
Nussbaumer
SELECTION

Italy's most awarded Gewürztraminer epitomises the elegance and aromatics of this ancient grape variety.
' The only Gewürztraminers that can compete with those from Alsace are those from South Tyrol, and of those, Nussbaumer is the best.'

Grape variety: Gewürztraminer
Yield: 45 hl/ha
Altitude: 350 -550 m
Exposure: south-east 70%, south 30%.
Harvest: End of October
Soil: Calcareous gravel with clay soil, subsoil rocks of porphyry
Age of the vines: End of September - end of October
Climate: extreme interplay between sunny days dominated by the Mediterranean climate and night hours dominated by cold downdrafts from the surrounding mountains
Serving temperature: 12-14° C

After a mild and rainy winter, a warm and pluvious March led to early budding. Apart from a few hot days in April, it was wet and cool until the end of June. A warm summer was followed by an autumn with frequent spells of rain, which delayed ripening. Overall, it was a challenging year in viticulture, which demanded a lot of work from the winegrowers. Thanks to the consistent implementation of our quality philosophy, the experience of our producers and the cooperation within the cooperative, grapes of remarkable quality were harvested, particularly with regard to the white grape varieties and Pinot Noirs. The white wines of the 2024 vintage are delicate and fresh. In the red wines, the elegance of the Pinot Noir is impressive.

Vernatsch Hexenbichler 2025...

Vernatsch Hexenbichler 2025...

After a mild winter, flowering was early and abundant. The summer brought extreme climatic variations: a hot, almost sweltering June was followed by a cool and rainy July. Very high temperatures in August then accelerated the ripening process. Almost everywhere, the harvest began much earlier than usual and was short, intense and demanding. Thanks to our members' small plots, their great flexibility and careful manual harvesting, it was possible to pick high-quality grapes with the utmost precision. The red wines of the 2025 vintage are juicy and fresh, some with great potential for development, particularly the Pinot Noir. The white wines are lighter than in previous years, with less alcohol, more acidity and a fresh, fruity style.
