Grape variety: 100% Pinot Grigio
Denomination of Origin: South Tyrol DOC
Altitude: 220 - 250 m a.s.l.
Area: the Punggl vineyard, a 50 m high hill, lies south of Margreid between 220 and 250 m above sea level. The soil is an accumulation of grey, loamy sand with a high clay
content.
Climate: the Mediterranean climate is characterised by warm summers and mild winters, as well as the warm south wind Ora blowing from Lake Garda in the afternoon.
Vinification: the grapes are harvested by hand. After the whole grape pressing, the clarified must ferments for about 3 weeks in 30 hl wooden barrels. Afterwards the young
wine matures for another 8 months on the fine yeast.
Colour: intense straw yellow
Aroma: quince, peach, lychee, dried pear, a hint of fresh thyme.
Taste: full-bodied, deep, integrated spicy acidity
Food recommendation: Dolmades (Greek-style stuffed vine leaves), pappardelle with porcini mushrooms
Serving temperature: 10-12 °C
Storage recommendations: Cool at 10-13 °C and min. 60% humidity
