Very deep, intense cherry red colour. Pronounced aroma with notes of very ripe black and red berries and cherry fruit, paired with oak spice. Full bodied, quite rich and powerful, with very good fruit concentration on the palate. Well balanced, still very youthful. Long, fresh and fruity aftertaste with present tannin.

Bright, full cherry red. On the nose the wine is reminiscent of ripe cherry, liquorice and wild herbs; the smooth, ripe tannins give the wine an especially harmonious mouth-feel with tangy fresh herbs on the finish. Enjoy at optimum maturity from summer 2011 to the end of 2017; will keep well until 2020. Serve: just below room temperature, 60 - 64 °F; the 2008 vintage will benefit from decanting in its youth; serve in medium-large Bordeaux glasses. It is an excellent match for venison and game, well-seasoned red meats and piquant hard cheeses.

The Roman settler and winegrower Cornelius settled in the Colterenzio area around 15 BC, and founded his Cornelianum wine estate, form which the name Cornaiano developed. He laid the foundations for our present-day wine culture. Cornelius is an elegant Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

This wine’s defining characteristic is typicality. The colour is once again deep and concentrated, almost purple in the centre while the aroma is copy-book classic Cabernet reminiscent of black currant, lightly earthy, spicy with fine toasty new oak and vanilla.
