The color is lovely yellow/gold with greenish reflections. The bouquet is very intense and complex with hints recalling ripe fruits such as peach, black currant, melon and tropical fruits such as banana, pineapple, mango and passion fruit. The Noble Rot (botrytis cinerea) contributes honeyed notes and a layer of complexity and elegance. On the palate it is fresh, balanced and, surprisingly for many tasters, not exceptionally sweet. Essenzia pairs well with strong and spicy cheese such as gorgonzola. It is exceptional with foie gras, but also shows handsomely with desserts such as cakes and pastries. In Italy we say it’s a “vino da meditazione,” a wine to enjoy on its own as you contemplate drinking it.

To deserve a "Reserve" label, the grapes selected to produce this wine must ensure a minimum natural alcohol content at least one degree higher than classic Teroldego Rotaliano. But that’s not all. Before being bottled and put on the market, the wine must spend a mandatory ageing period of at least two years in our cellar, partly maturing in large oak barrels and partly in small oak casks called "barriques". This is what we mean by traditional style Teroldego; the wine is aged in wooden barrels, which nonetheless do not absolutely affect the wine’s natural taste or fruit characteristics.

The “Granato” is dedicated to this ideal blend, an especially concentrated and dense Teroldego that takes root from the stones of five different vineyards of the Campo Rotaliano.
