Guidalberto is a blend of 45% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Sangiovese. The grapes are accurately selected before being stripped and then vinified in a new cellar purposely built at Tenuta San Guido, in Localitá Vecchio Frantoio.
Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless-steal vats. Maceration lasted for 17 days for Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and 14 days for Sangiovese. The wine was then aged for 14 months in French and American oak “barriques”, one third of which being new ones.
The nose is very long and persistant, and on the palate is already evident an very well-balanced and persistant structure. The wine is round and gentle. The combination of an important organoleptic structure and richness of polyphenols, allows us to foresee an excellent longevity for this wine.
